I wish I could of been there, but I had take some time off, I injured my shin. Runners knees. I am a account rep now, but back in the day, I used to be a security guard, a lot of walking, going through new shoes every month, then running shoes had to replace every month or so. It was expensive between work and running. Congrats everybody. It does not matter if you come in first or not as long as you finish.

I was also passed by a gent on the secong lap who was in the Fivefingers. Come to think of it I think I also saw a lady barefoot. Not sure if thisd was by choice or if she just took her shoes off.

Amazing to see this. I must pluck up the courage to try this at some point but must admit that I am at the minute a little chicken.

Hi folks,

Does anyone know if there is any timing chip recycling happening this year ?  Last year I think we sent them to SMC.

The 2010 SMH was my first half. I've only really been running since March this year, so my longest training run was 8.5k the previous Friday.
I had a few goals for this:
1st - To make the 11k & 75mins cutoff. I was at 13k by then.
2nd - To complete the course. I did!
3rd - To run the whole way. I did, although I haven't mastered drinking from cups and running, so I walked while gulping at the aid stations.
My finishing time was 2:08, which I'm quite proud of. I've already entered for the half in September (Sydney) and am going in for the C2S too.

See you there!

Just an update on the medals for the back of the pack:

I've got an unloved one on the way from a generous coolrunner. SMH also just sent me an email promising to send me a medal.

Well done eoin - that's a great effort.

Thanks for the info emjay - that's great. I'll pop my chip in the post tomorrow.

Emma, so you've gone from no medal to multi-medalist :Praying:

After going through 1279 photos I found two photos of me, using the filter of male and blue shirt.

Now for my extra Sherlock Holmes moment.

There were many, many people who were not wearing race numbers!!!!!!!!!!

No wonder organisers ran out of product if bandits (non paying, not naughty number swappers) use the race infrastructure.

Shame on you non paying bandits. People need to know that not all issues are with SMH.

Wow. I'm searching for a photo of me I requested at around 15km. In a moment of brilliance, I promised to buy a photo of my back (with its slogan.) Unfortunately, my race number is on my stomach, and it cannot be seen... Yes, I do suffer from runner's brain something fierce.

I am not impressed if medals are given to people without numbers. Not impressed on two fronts: the person for taking them, and the finish line people giving them out.

It is absolutely astonishing the number running without numbers.

Not all people without numbers are bandits. About 15 metres after the start line i saw a number laying on the ground. Some Einstein sticky taped the number to their shirt and, naturally, the numbers fell off. So, there was at least one person in the race without a number that wasn't a dishonest bandit.

The race photos don't do the number wearers justice. I know of a couple of people running at the pace I was had their numbers around their waist but at the back. So not all in the photos were numberless, just forgetful.

shrek, I know sh#t happens.

However if you go through the amount of no number racers in the photo gallery, must have been a bad day for sticky tape. :Praying:

Special price for a fellow CoolRunner, however Superflake has first dibs.
