Stay tuned to this forum for changes due to the water level at Glenbrook causeway.
Time: 6.00am
Date: Saturday 9th February 2008
Where:
Distance:
Drinks:
No water along the course. There is a tap on the platform at Woodford Station to refill before the return to Glenbrook. There is also a tap at the top of the Oaks Fire Trail, which is now the planned turn around point (thanks scurry).
Maps:
Not needed. Follow the road from the station to the Glenbrook Ranger Station. From there, follow the road and the Oaks Trail to the end. Turn around
Course Description:
Apart from a few ups and downs at the very start and towards Woodford (where there are some quite steep but short ups and downs) the course is a gentle uphill run to Woodford (and downhill on the way back). Mostly on wide, good quality firetrail. Some, however, is fairly rough.
I'll provide some snakes and cool drinks at the finish, with lunch available in one of the many cafes in Glenbrook.
I couldn't make the Australia Day Fatathon or the Megalong Mega, so this is my final big run before the Six Foot Track. See you there if you can make it.
The changes here are thanks to the success of the Aus Day Fatathon and Rod who made the suggestion to me (and scurry who pointed out that there is a tap at the top of the Oaks Trail, meaning there is no need to go the Woodford Station to refill). These changes will cut about 4 km off the total distance, will allow a swim at the causeway and will mean we can hide a drinks esky at the causeway full of ice cold coke, etc.
