A friend is running the marathon.  Does anyone know if I will be able to see his splits on the internet?

thanks.

I wouldn't be too sure - chip timing is by Multisport Australia and they do "live results" as per six foot track marathon. But I don't think split times are live. However you will be able to see whatever splits the organisers have paid to be timed (suspect just start/finish).

All will become clear here:

I just had a phone update from TKR in the cheer squad.....Eagle jut ran through the 15km mark looking very strong (and taking a brief moment to stop at the 100th banner for a photo).   Slowmo looking great in his 'colours' and a beautiful day for running.

CHeer squad is pumped and ready to go all day!

Congratulations Uncle Dave!!! What a great start to 2009 you have had.

Thanks for the updates. I'm looking forward to a phonecall from Flyingemu so that we know how he went. The girls are bursting into random cheers shouting "Go Dad!" and are excited to know that there are lots of people cheering on all the runners.

Dave , you are one tough bugger...an absolute metronome who doesn't flag at the end of the run and keeps on putting performance after performance at your best...you can't ask for more- especially after Hobart and the niggles you have had, only making a solid return to SMC three weeks ago etc.

Your training, performance and attitude are to be admired and a lot to be learnt from by others.

Tim...mate, don't worry...you are still the real deal, a class runner and your performance at SMC showed that. It will come, this is the marathon and stuff happen. You will no doubt have a stellar career.

Anthony , another SMC performer...finally the breakthrough to sub 2:30, you've kept coming back for more...congrats

Swaggers...hell, don't you age mate...do you realise that age adjusted that 2:44 is way better than your all time PB of 2:26...real high class stuff.

So many others no doubt to come through still...will be busy tiling bathroom , but hope to pop in here from time to time.

cheers

Great reporting.

Uncle Dave, he is reaping the rewards he deserves.

The first Australian male and female runner will receive a trip to a major Japanese marathon, courtesy of Asics.

I wonder if Swaggers and Tim 2 introduced themselves before the race. Swaggers has bragging rights this time.

Look forward to hearing other CR's results.

A shame the Multisport website hasn't updated finishing times for the last 45mins or so and seems stuck on the 2:47 finishers.

Amazing run by Uncle. Just reading his blog, he did 35K on Tues AND 35k Wed and wasn't sure if he was even going to run. Tht's an interesting way to taper I guess. Congrats Unc.

You sure Action ran? I don't see his name there....unless he moved to hamilton island and is about 15yrs younger :hi:

Well don Doggie, right on plan as you indicated on Friday...just sneak in under 3 and hold some back for the next 8km.

Well done all, Rachinaus etc etc

Could be that mystery Steve Jackson that ran Six Foot years ago?

I just spoke to the Dog quickly who was in the presentation. He said he stopped at the 42k. Can only beat one Flake PB per race, had to hold one back for next year.

Congrats everyone,

16.5 C and 53% at 10:30am, looks like perfect running conditions. Any chance we could book those for the Gold Coast ??

Congratulations all-great result for Uncle Dave!  Impressive effort from Swaggers as well-12th outright and 1st in age group.
Congrats to StellaBella on her first marathon-top effort.
Also Lucky Legs-you continue to inspire!
I can't find Eagle-anyone know how he did?
Lots of other names I recognise though-well run all of you.
