We once had going a 5k challenge list that was age adjusted in some way. It was interesting and gave us seniors a chance of being competitive on paper at least . Is that an easy thing to do and set up to run parallel to the other lists.???

There are rankings and pb's for 10kms and marathons  - why no half marathon? Can I propose it? (not sure I'm technical enough to be able to set it up if that is even allowed, I am only a humble accountant :)) Personally I hope to be creating a pb half marathon time in a couple of weeks and judging by the posts I'm sure a few others do too.

It's pretty straightforward to set up a new page - if I get time this afternoon I'll do it, if someone else hasn't figured it out in the meantime - one for 5km and one for half-mara. I'm with you Eagle, us more mature runners need some special consideration! I'll try to think how to do that.

I think the 'all time' list should be a raw list without adjustment.  These are all CRs in their glory days.

Happy for the yearly list of PBs to be adjusted if we can work out an equitable way to do this, or a way that is fudged so that Phoenix comes out in the top 3.

I am happy to have the raw list of times but for interest another list where they are age adjusted. The table has been set by WMA and here is some backgorund on how it is done :

This is a calculator you can use :

Age adjusted calculator

or this from Runners World :
Runners World Calculator

My sub 3 hour marathon last year is age adjusted to 2.29.24 - now that sound good - just wish I was running marathons aged 25. :)

There are other sites with the tables but they all give almost the same result as the calculator is based on a set scale determined by WMA

Maybe put the age adjusted time as a secondary entry after your name?

Thanks - though what do you mean special consideration  - last time I looked you were aiming for the same time as me in the half marathon and I'm a few years younger...no handicap required... (or alternatively, what's my excuse?)

How do we get in the list?

Shaz and I did Melb Mara 2007 in 3:39:00, and
Mt Beauty HM in 1:55:00 (tough, undulating HM course)

...its only a matter of time before they throw their 2c worth in. Then I reckon you will be able the throw a blanket over all 5 of us. Question is....who will be the big improvers going forward? Clearly age is not exactly on Horrie and my side!

Only 4 years behind you so maybe include me in that too.
Hamburglar will be by far the youngest of the 5 of us.

Will be interesting to see who improves this year, the race is on for all 5 of us.
Can we also include C2K on the it would be the only one I do well at. :) :o

I need to run a 5km event urgently-I've only run 1 this year (with my daughter) for a 41:00.  Looks bad on the end of the list!
Very briefly last night I had the best marathon pb.  It lasted until someone else added their time.

Thanks for the links eagle. :)
I work on the assumption that if I maintain roughly the same times for the various distances as I age I am in fact improving.
Now I can even do forward projections.

My 5km time equates to a 25yo running 21:41! and my 10km equates to 25yo running 44:54!

I like this calculator :)

I've had a go at creating an age-adjusted ranking page.

Reminder - Don't forget to add your ranking or PBs for this year.  There has been a lot of action around the place at the CG, Cities etc.
