Hi,
Thought i would start a list of CR's running in the Blackmores Festival. The other thread was getting really long and being a newbie, it would be good to see a list of who to look for on the day

I am sure Linda or one of the other IT literates will set up a wiki page. I do know about them and it is a cool way to keep a runnning (pun!!) list that can be added to but I know nothing else to do with IT stuff :)

I think 'running' might not be the correct description. I am entered in the marathon and plan to get to the finish. I am expecting to finish the Glasshouse 100 miler the previous weekend and so I expect to experiencing a 'back of the pack and then back of the pack' position in this one. I may need to check the cut off time. :)

OK, I've created a wiki page and put what I could glean of the info here. Please check the wiki and cut-and-paste yourself into the relevant category if you haven't already indicated it above (paigebaby, slowmo and crabby spring to mind). Also add goal time if you wish.

I've added this link to the first post of this thread and about to post it on the main thread too.

See you on the 21st peoples!

Mr and Mrs Fiftyplus

Mrs fiftyplus is entered in the Fernwood Gym Team from Hornsby, and doing her second ever event other than the Sydney Adventist 5km which she walked some of the way.

Don't want to predict a time for her as finishing without walking is ther goal. As for me under 45mins would be good.

Thanks for the wiki page Sook, I have cut-and-pasted myself to the marathon group. I also took the liberty of moving Slowmo to that group...

Hope to see you on the 21st...

Click on this link to get to our wiki page.

I've just added TKR and tonedbutt, and done a quick sort by estimated time - that way you can see which other CRs to be looking out for at around your pace (and it might be useful info for the cheersquad too!).

Guys, to edit a wiki page, just click the blue word 'edit' to the right of the page just above the section that you want to edit.

Then a new display will appear with the contents of the page in the form of text and some stars for bullet points, which you can edit as you wish. Just copy the format of the other entries if you are not sure. Add a line with your name and fantasy time, then click the 'save' button (or similar) at the bottom. Hey presto - you have edited the wiki!  :)

P.S. I am getting worried that after 6 months of hard training, I am going to be one of the last people home. I can't believe the target times that people have! I suppose it is a small marathon, not like London where loads of people run for the first time and plod around in 5-6 hours wearing costumes.

I just have these visions of getting to the end and there just being my partner and a street-sweeper clapping me home, with everyone else left for dust!

I think the taper is getting to me  :)

I'll be aiming for a sub 3:20. I'd like to start out with sailaway's 3:15 pace group but think I might be better suited to sticking to a 3:19:xx pacing rather than dying in the back end.

Well, I salute you Anth.

My half marathon time is 1:58 so I am looking at a target of sub 4:30, hopefully I won't get disheartened by being at the back of the pack.  Have a great day everyone and enjoy it.

Lisa you won't be at the back of the pack with a sub 4:30 :)

Enjoy the day - there's some great scenery that you'll run past and when you finish you wont be too worried about where you came but more proud of finishing the race !

Am in for my 11th marathon and hopefully will finish under the cut-off and in one piece.  8) have just added my name to the Wiki page.

Eagle - There is no way in the world that you will go over 4 hours in the full, 100km the week before notwithstanding.  :)

I've added myself to the 9km section. I was hoping to maybe run it under 36mins depending on traffic, but have been down and out with a cold for the past week, and the germs seem to be re-grouping as my throat is sore again this morning! :)   So my current revised target is sub 40mins.

I posted this on a different discussion threadbut thought it's more relevant here.

As an official 3:15 pacer if anyone is thinking about tagging on the 3:15 coach the pace splits will be as even as possible. The exception will be on the up and down legs of the hills.       Pace split will be 0:04:36 per km. Half-marathon  split will be 1:37:00 and will aim to finish on 3:14:00.              These will be the  5km splits:
  •   5 km      22:59

  • 10 km      45:59

  • 15 km  01:08:58

  • 20 km  01:31:57

  • 25 km  01:54:57

  • 30 km  02:17:56

  • 35 km  02:40:55

  • 40 km  03:03:54
Hope this helps.      I'm cautiously optimistic that the course KM markings will all be accurate.  Happy and injury free training to all

I am very disappointed to say that I will not be  pacing on Sunday after a home renovation accident has left me with no  alternative but to pull out.  Ewan is the other  3.15 pacer and a very  accomplished runner. I am certain that he  will do an excellent pacing job and has  confirmed he will stick with the above pacing times. Look out for him as he  will be wearing a bum bag with an empty water bottle into which is fitted a  pole with a coloured flag.

Enjoy the run and good luck.

Sailaway, hope your recovary is quick, Melbourne is not too far away. Sorry to hear about the accident, but you should have followed the Marathon rules, rest, eat, drink and taper. My rules say avoid all work in the final week, especially as tapering gives you more energy - "do not even mow the lawn"!

I am not in shape to run 3.15 otherwise I would help Ewan out, hopefully another CR runner will give him a hand.

I've added myself to the 9km section. I was hoping to maybe run it under 36mins depending on traffic, but have been down and out with a cold for the past week, and the germs seem to be re-grouping as my throat is sore again this morning! So my current revised target is sub 40mins.

I've removed myself from the Wiki page as I'm still not over this cold and won't be running on Sunday. :D

I said good luck in the other thread, but thought I'd add my good luck wishes here as well to the CRs running on Sunday!

I'm one and Tim Cochrane - who fortunately has much better credentials than me - is the other.
