It looks like I may be heading to Singapore for work for a yr or two and would like to know how the 'running scene' in Singapore is.
I'm after any information related to races/clubs and running routes in Singapore. Having been to Singapore a couple of times (for short vacations), I didn't think it offered a lot for runners (and triathletes). Am I wrong in assuming that?
Any info will be great. Thanks.

I've only been in Singapore for a week and really enjoyed running around Macritchie reservoir park and there seemed to be quite a few running groups doing stuff there.

I lived in Singapore for close to 2 years and there is a good running scene there, hope you like running in a steam bath though :)

There is a CR type online community forum there called SGRunners

http://sgrunners.com/

As Rohan mentions Macritchie is a great place to run and there is a regular group there as well

http://www.mr25.org.sg/

Good flat running out at East Coast and even some hills on the trails around Bukit Timah

There are quite a few races through the year and you are in handy distance to Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia for other events. Also a pretty good tri scene there and I did quite a bit of riding with the ANZA cycling club, long rides every Sat morning!

Hi there

I am from Singapore and now studying in Sydney. I belong to the club MacRitchie Runners 25 (MR25), www.mr25.org.sg. You can find their race calendar on the website.

If you like to have a group on weekdays, an informal group trains on the track every tuesdays at a track along Bt Timah Rd.

If you need advice I can link you up with one of them.

I'll be back in Singapore for a few days from 31 October.

Any CoolRunners there up for a run on the east coast around 6am any mornings?
