Hi all-I'm having a bit of a battle with my poor eating habits and chocolate addiction at the moment and thought of this thread as a way to motivate me.  Slow Dave gave me the idea with the before and after pics in his blog which he uses to motivate himself.  I thought it was a great idea-but decided on a thread so everyone else can post their pics as well.  It's a win win situation-motivation and showing off!
I have 4 pics from various times.

Here, we'll have a go.  Just for fun.  Between Shaz and I we lost about 30kg in 12 months.  The photo's don't show it that well, but if you look around the face and neck you can see it.

Wombat - well done.  You look fantastic.

Great job everyone.  I went from 91 to 75kgs, but don't have the evidence on me right now.  I'll see if I can dig something up.

wombatoutofhell,

Great work just keep going back to the first and last photos to remind yourself how well you have done.
Complete over hall is great.

Will also look back and see if I can find any of me at +86KGs I am about 75KGs now not a lot fo difference but you can see it.
And I really can feel it when I train.

Well done everyone, what a fantastic effort.

I went from 92kgs to 65kgs 4 years ago. I keep a pair of jeans in my cupboard (size 18) and when I feel like I am falling off the wagon I get them out and believe me, that is enough to put me firmly back on the wagon. BIG TIME.

It is also so inspiring to see other people have gone through and are going through the same thing. Keep up the good work everyone.

Wow! Great going guys, you've all done so well!

Since starting running about 10 weeks ago i've gone from 88.2kg to 78.6, so i'm getting down there. Only about 5kgs to go, till i'm happy!

What a fantastic effort by all of you.

I have gone from about 85Kg to 79Kg since, still got about 14Kgs to go, but I'm on the way. I just have curb those food addictions a bit and I should get there!!

Keep up the great work everyone!!

What a fantastic idea.

I went from 120 to 83, but I don't think I have many photos of me at maximum weight.  Hereis one at 110-115.

The first one here was taken almost exactly 5 years ago (after winning a Cricket Grandfinal), the second one was last october.

Thank you - this is a sensational idea.

I went from 67kg to a touch under 54. I'm 158cm (5ft2) so not very tall, so that's a big change for me.

Had to replace the wardrobe a couple of times along the way...  :D

Well I cant really do a before and after more like a before and during.  The fist photo is July 2005 at somewhere around 145kg ( I stopped getting on scales to avoid knowing if it went any higher) and the second is this February at the zoo run when I was at about 108kg.  Currently I'm down to 103 kgs and going lower all the time.  Only really being dealing with the weight thing since seriously embracing running ( jalking) in August 2007.  So 42kgs and counting only about 30 more to go  :D

Holey Gaucamoley, you guys are amazing.

Wombat, thats amazing, how great do your legs look now, they are a serious set of runners legs. Sorry Mrs Wombat, dont go green on me, Im married  :D

Mrs Wombat you look fab too, you look really healthy and happy. I bet you're feeling a million bucks.

And while Im at it, SlowDave, you just look fantastic. Perfect reason to keep ALL your race pics, to be able to compare as your fitness improves.

Far out, you guys all rock. And good on you for posting your pics too. Very brave of you (i would never have the guts to do that, oops 'guts' probably wasnt the right choice of word for that sentence!).

Right then, im off to do pilates, Im all inspired.

Excellent work everyone-keep em coming!

I threw out most of my fat clothes last week (actually went to the op shop).  I kept a leather jacket that was to expensive to put in a drop bin and I kept all my belts as just looking at them all lined up is a good reminder of days gone by.

First of all, thank you Wombat for initiating this thread (and for Slowdave who shared his photos on his terrific blog)
Secondly, at the risk of sounding soft, I wanted to thatnk all the people who shared their photos. It's had a massive impact on me....seeing how ordinary people have taken control, and made such a huge difference. Seeing Staypuff, and her photos, was dramatic....it looks like different people.
Well done everyone, be proud and stay strong.

Yep I've kept some of my suits because I wasn't convinced the weight was going to stay off, but after the last few kilos the pants are falling off. Losing weight is about to become very expensive.  :D

Yep, I've lost 10kg over the past 6 months through a diet of chocolate and lots of running, but soon I will need a new wardrobe. None of my old clothes fit, fortunately I still kept some of my old old smaller clothes, but even they are starting to become loose now. Got another 8kg or so to go so just started seeing a personal trainer and have already lost an additional few kgs in the past week due to him so it looks like I'm gonna have to buy a whole new set of clothes very soon!

Ok.  Here goes.

The beach one was taken in December 2006.  I had already been running for just over 18 months at that point.  No idea what I weighed there but the scary thing is, that isn't even me at my heaviest  B)

The second one is after the Sydney Running Festival half marathon last September.

I've lost about 27kgs from my absolute heaviest when running was something other people did  :D

Edited to add evidence of further lardiness:-

The third pic is from 1999, I think.  Again, no idea how many kgs I was - in denial for sure!

2 reasons-1 it means the page will take much longer to load as all the images have to load.  2 it's easier for the poster.  To embed the image we need to load them onto another site to host them and then put a link in to the picture.  Laziness is really your answer!

Great effort there Plodbod-you look fantastic!  Same with you Boneychic.

OK,
This is from November 2003 (I started running a year later)

And the second is at the end (100m to go, thanks Springer) of the Sydney Marathon 2007.

Thank you running.

Plodbod and Boneychic,

Fantastic effort you both have transformed yourselves and must feel so good now...

Greg,

that is an absolutely cracking picture of your quads on your left leg, no matter where you started that is awesome!

You all make me want to run more, so thank you all!

Cheers

S'baker

Edit: just saw there was another page! So everybody from page 1 (so many of you!) well done, all amazing efforts and truly inspiring. And sorry for missing you the first time!

thanks mate.

you know when I was 100kg plus guy I would never have imagined I could have run 10km but if you surround yourself with the right people and believe in yourself anything is possible.

tim you look a lot skinnier on this photo than the other, maybe it was the 40 hours of running that did it. ;)
Good on ya mate.

It is amazing how much doing a bit of running has changed so many people.
Congratulations to all of you it is great to see people taking charge of their own lives in this big land of obese people.

This is my first post so I'm feeling very nervous but after watching here for so long it's time!

Thanks so much for this wonderful thread.  I started exercising at 111kgs two years ago and now at 86kgs I still have a way to go but have come so far.  I love running now - it's such a huge part of my life and I still can't believe I'm training for my first half marathon (Gold Coast).

You are all so inspirational.  Thank you for sharing.

make sure you buy a CR hat for the Gold Coast and write 'busymum' on the back so we can all say "Hi".
