Look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. If the weather is similar to today it will be super for running.

I stuck with Minus15 during the first 12km for both conversation and pacing. We were going a little faster than I would have otherwise, but it seemed alright. However, I had to adjourn for a long-ish nature break near the end of the lap, after which it seemed hard to get going again. Partly it was the loss of momentum, but mostly it was because I didn't have anyone to talk to for that second 12km and I find it challenging to work my legs without also working my mouth.
Still it was very pleasant chugging along the path, past wattles and hardenbergia in flower, with the bellbirds chiming. This was my third time on this course and I think today was the best.
Good to catch up with a few folk before and after, including Paul who I hadn't seen for quite a while. The pancakes were particularly delicious !
Many thanks to the Sri Chinmoy crew for a terrific morning.

Only did the 6km today after recent illness and lack of recent training. Was glad I did after doing it tough at the 7.5km at Cross Country Champs at Dundas yesterday. Was a wise move....
After that little speel, once again Sri Chinmoy put on another great event and was great to see a few familiar faces doing the three distances. Was a great morning for it, once we warmed up and I would also certainly second Glenrunner's comments. This venue should be on the Sri Chinmoy series of runs every year, not every second year as its such a great course and I know for a fact that having an event like this in the golden west did drag a few extra's along from my running club, that may not have otherwise done it.All in all another great morning and hope to make at least one or two more before of the SC events before the year is out.

As always, wonderfully well organised by the great people from Sri Chinmoy. I keep forgetting to mention to them that a coffee van would be nice - although perhaps I shouldn't impose my hopeless addiction on the rest of the community! It is possible of course that this might contravene the Sri Chinmoy principles (and to may shame having run in many of their races, I haven't taken the effort to find out more of the underlying beliefs).
So a big thanks to the organisers, volunteers and it was nice to bump into many well known faces.
I thought that the numbers were perhaps a bit down and this would not be surprising seeing that there was a marathon and half marathon relay being run on the M7 just down the road at the same time. Unfortunate clash but I realsie it was brought about by the need to swap with the Centennial Park event.

It was a lovely run followed by even lovelier pancakes! Many thanks Sri Chinmoy for your great organisation.
Won my first running trophy ever, for the 1st place female 50-59 in the 24km! (OK, I was also DFL, but at least I ran the whole 24km.) Hey Paul, didn't occur to me to have a pancake inbetween loops. Luckily I hadn't read your comment.
Hope Sri Chinmoy do this course more often (preferably not on the same weekend as the M7)

A big thank you to Sri Chinmoy for a great Sunday.
After trying for the last 4 years I finally won my first race(24k race)and set the course record, though I am sure with some of the fine runners around that will be broken easily soon. To all the runners who acknowledged me during the run, a massive thank you. It is because of the runners who I see turn up to the Sri Chinmoy races that inspire me to run. I love it. I hope to chat to more of you at the next run. And the best thing about the Sri Chinmoy races.... Pancakes.

I enjoyed the run finishing in 90:24 by my watch which left plenty of time for the pancakes.
Thanks to the organisers and volunteers.

Ran 1:45:45 with very even 7km laps.
Gotta love a race where you can rock up, jump out of your car and trot to the start, have a laugh with a few running buddies, race, scoff a quick pancake and head home with no crowds or fuss.
Back to the crowds next week!

I had another mate who had decided to enter the Spring Cycle instead, and after seeing all that congestion not far from the start, I was wondering whether he might be looking at the runners and thinking he made the wrong choice!
Thanks to all at Sri Chinmoy, especially for the pancakes!

What a pleasure to see the lovely running action of Keith Bateman gracing the 8K.He won in a course record as expected.
Far,far behind I was chasing the only other M70+ in the race.I pulled Mr Eddy McMaster back quite a bit from the half way point, but made the mistake of passing him with less than a Km to go.Obviously raised his competitive instincts since he cleared out with about 300m to go.Still, made him earn his medal today for a change.
I was most pleased with my improvement over recent times, racing shore brings you on.First time for ages managed to hold under 7 mins per Km,just under anyway. So,I am going to give myself a clap for that.

And yep, couple of bridges, the last one near the finish line will be the worst one as it includes a couple of ramp turns to get up and down. I'll go for a test run tomorrow

I felt a tad sluggish today but still enjoyed my run. It's very pleasant running along the river with the shady sections and bridge crossings.
Very chuffed to be told by Fossil after the race that I'd been running smoothly. Actually I was just holding it together long enough to look good while he was zooming up behind me, but don't tell him.
Good to catch up with John, Fossil and MsMook and say hello to Crazy Diamond. SkyChariot - you looked to be running really well today.
Many thanks to Prachar and the excellent Sri Chinmoy folks.

And that wind was stronger second lap, I am sure except for some reason it didn't seem stronger when blowing from behind :-)
Was very pleased my legs started to fail from fatigue today rather than injury so looking forward to getting back to 100% training weeks now :-)

Followed Prachar's advice to keep out of others way as much as possible, so started the 4km up near the back. Only passed people when there was enough room (a bit tricky in places) but after a km or so, bub and I were into our stride. The 500m or so of grass/dirt/mud was a bit more difficult, but we finished well in a tick over 16 minutes. A few mins slower than I'd race by myself, but I was 20kg heavier today
Great to catch up with Fossil and briefly meet Slomo. Thanks to the organisers and volunteers, and well done to everyone who ran

Great to catch up with some old faces and to see the ever cheerful Sri Chinmoy people. I don't know what they put in those pancakes but it puts a smile on everyone's face.
