Hi,

My training is taking place at 830-900m above sea level. The C2S couse averages between 0-84m above sea level. Just now I ran a 5min pace 7.22k run. What gain, if any, could I expect from altitude alone?

I'm not an expert on the topic, but my understanding is that much higher altitudes are needed for any training effect. For those doing altitude training, 1000m is considered 'low' and they come down to that level to do the more intense sessions that they wouldn't be able to do at higher altitudes. Lots available on a google search, e.g. http://www.2peak.com...de_training.php

Surprisingly 'Monnas' mentioned during the commentary that the C2S is seen as equiv to a half marathon because of the hills ...

Wow!

I'm thinking I might enter a half next year!
