Yesterday the clouds cleared and the sun came out, just in time to get out the welding mask and see the planet Venus traversing the sun's surface. It looked even better in the astronomical society's telescope, the sunspots showed up too as other smaller black dots. Went for a run between mikings yesterday, 10.63 km in 1 hr 28 mins, did 1 stride 207m; 48 secs; Pace=3.53, speed= 15.4. Looking forward to the 5km run with the Harriers tonight and 15 km run with AV on Saturday. AV must have a sense of humour holding a race in Ballarat in this weather! No wonder Steve Monaghetti runs so fast, living in such a cold spot. Anyway the course map looks great as we circle Lake Wendouree. Hard to believe places like this went dry in the big drought. Now it will probably be lapping the road.
