After some time out with an injury after the Canberra Marathon in April I decided on the Gold Coast Half Ironman as my next goal. Whenever you crew for someone that does not finish you can't help but feel that it was in some way your fault. Maybe there was something you could have done to keep the runner out there. Who knows. After only one 5km run and one 30min swim since Canberra I am finally getting back into it, albeit slowly. On Sunday morning I went down to the waterfront for a flat 5km run and got through it slowly although it was a struggle towards the end. I have obviously lost a lot of fitness in the past month which I don't think I am going to be able to make up...
