Hi fellow coolrunners,
Having found a few different items on runs over the last few week I was wondering what are the strangest items you have found or strangest things you have seen whilst running. I have seen battery operated devices on the ground in the car park around Albert Park, some very friendly males at Digits Falls (not something I want to see again running!). But over the last few weeks I have found a bike (unlocked leaning against a tree with nobody to be seen in the park where it was located) which is now at the Northcote Police Station and a Melbourne High School blazer (now back with its owner and me with a box of chocolates). I live across the road from a sports oval and have also found lots of tennis balls (which the dog loves), footballs, soccer balls and car keys.
I'm sure many of you have found (and have seen) lots of strange things so I'd be interested to hear what else us runners find.

Have never found anything in that league Fish! Did see a few months ago, a lady run past me with something in her hand that was covered with a t-towel! That was pretty strange at the time! I think the most common thing that I have seen over the years is the debris left from ad-hoc teenage parties! bottles etc!

once i was running home from work across a bit of waste ground,it was really cold and ther was a body lying face down with his thigh broken and at ninety degrees to the top bit(of his thigh)i looked around onone for miles,no houses,i gave him a shake and he was surprised as i had not made any sound up to this point and leapt up pulled on his artificial leg which had come loose on the uneven ground, thanked me and hopped off holding the socket bit onto his stump with his hand-beat that-briz

OK so this one fits into the 'Strangest thing seen whilst running' category.....
I was about 500m out from finishing my 36km run yesterday and even though I had been out there for over 3hrs im fairly certain I wasnt halucinating!!
I was running (shuffling really) along the bikepath/walkway that runs along the parramatta river between Homebush and Silverwater Rd when coming towards me was a guy on a bike with a small passenger sitting on the handlebars......the passenger was a Cockatoo!! This guy was taking his cockatoo for a ride on his bike! And the cracker (pun intended) was that the damned bird actually said 'Hello' as they went passed!!
Brought a smile to my face at the end of a hard long run!! hehehe
Cheers,
Billsy.

running on Stradbroke Island last sunday, nearly stepped on a great big knife lying on the shoulder of the road - gave me a little start actually. looked like a high quality one though and great to add to the tackle box, but what does one do to get it home? the next 2k i was figuring the angles - personal safety running with it? walk teh last 3 k back with it? passers by reaction either way, come back and get it? was it a wepaon used in a misdemeanour etc etc...

i once set off a bomb alert,i found a kids school rucksack near moriah school in sydney, opened it,and it was clearly some kids bag from the school,i was going that way and tried to give it to the security guard,he told me to back up and put the bag in the middle of the car park and gave me a warning about being on camera, stand still, don't move until back up blah blah

I found a beer the other day while out running. Just a single Tooheys Dry lying there on the grass waiting for me.

Hi, yesterday morning at 5am, running along the westlink m7 pathway and a wild rabbit running past me on the pathway then slowing down then it started to run fast again. I think it was lost?
