With just over 100 days till sixfoot, I am embarking on my devised 100 day sixfoot challenge and I am looking for people to join me. As a renound "low mileage runner" I realise the need to ramp it up for sixfoot and am looking at trying to motivate myself to keep up some consistent mileage for 3 months before the big dance.

I have devised a points system below with the maximum number of points achievable being 5...

>300k in Dec = 1 point
>300k in Jan = 1 point
>300k in Feb = 1 point
>1000k from 1 Dec to race day (101 days) = 2 bonus points

It is all about mileage - the k's can be slow, fast, hills, flats, trails, road - whatever you like.

Looking back over my diary, I have only ever gone over 300k in a month twice before, so to get 5 points for me will be a stretch.

Who's in? Regular updates will be required to keep you on track.

With C2K in Dec, I am pretty sure you will be the first to get a point.

Count me in. Crewing C2K will give me a decent amount in Dec. Narrabeen 12 hour will hopefully help in Jan. Just Feb to worry about!

Seriously contemplating putting my hand up. However might be starting December a bit late due to injury. Will give some more thought.

Will definately watch how you all go!

Yep I'm in! ...and crewing C2K but it looks like Koala1 has volunteered to do most of the running.  Given its meant to be 300km of "training" maybe race KM's should be excluded? :D

I was just about to say I'm in, but I thought I'd have a look at some past history first. Turns out that I've only ever done one 300k month in my life (307km, Feb 2009 - just before my 6ft pb, though I did manage a 297km in Jan 2008 too). I'd say that 3 x 250k is much more likely... :D

Count me in, assuming I get a spot in the race.
November is going to be my first month under 300k since May this year, having taken it really easy since GOW, but planning to ramp the training up again in December.  Like many above I will also be crewing  C2K, and since my race plan this year involves more walking up Pluvi than last year I have no guilt claiming it as training.  Good luck everyone.

Surely pre 6FT races are just considered training for the main event :p

Besides which, we won't be racing C2K, our runners will

:D

Day 1 and it's pouring with rain - typical! Oh well, best give the waterproof jacket a whirl later ;)

Well, started off really well today - no running at all, but I did walk 8ks in the pouring rain............... <sigh>!  Tomorrow will be better.  By the sounds of it though, I will be getting most of Decembers kms at C2K!!  :p

It all depends on the distance between your chair and the table.  :D

Some crew moved as little as 1 or 2 metres per lap.  Others might have had to move as far as 3 or 4 metres.

Got it :p Thanks

I did my 12k tonight but gave up on the Rat Trail after 5km - I was happy running in the dark and through the big deep puddles from this afternoon's deluge, but gave up trying to run through millions of tiny moths and tiny bugs.  It was a very spectacular sunset though and the bay looked like a mill pond again.  So far, I am on track ...

Was supposed to do 10k this morning but didn't happen :D

Hoping to squeeze a 6k lunchtime run in to bring me up to 30k - don't want my average to get behind. Although hopefully tomorrow will be a 30k+ at the track

Forgot to say for me:
1st December 0
2nd December 11kms
3rd December 0

Not all 65 or 62kms count the challenge starts as 1st December.

Forgot to say for me:
1st December 0
2nd December 11kms
3rd December 0
Yeah, it's a shame that December doesn't start in late November :D

1/12 16k
2/12  8k
3/12  0k

Only a few km behind, but will make up for it on Saturday night with 30k or so :D

215kms best ever last December.  Perhaps a challenge too far particularly as total kms Wed - Fri = 0kms

Planned a long run today to catch up but hit heavy rain as soon as I started, so called it quits at 12kms.  Trails a bit wet as well for the road shoes.  Lots of catching up to do - hope to get a few more kms in tomorrow and a run home from work Monday or Tuesday (28kms).
