hey I see Rudolf is only 400 and a bit posts off his 2000 so I imagine he will make that up in a couple of days.

He certainly is an enthusiastic fellow when it comes to posting.  I am often surprised at the depth of his knowledge, there doesn't seem to be a subject or topic the man is not up to date on.

Well Rudolf you are probably going to go down in history as the fastest 2000 posts ever.

Yeah, I am endlessly amazed by the depth and spread of his knowledge. I seldom open a thread these days without finding some pearls of wisdom offered. And he is not afraid of being controversial. Onya Rudolf on trailblazing your way towards the big 2000!

thanks boys,
but it is not WHAT You know, but WHO You know...

I was priviledged to spend the evening and the whole day with Vlastik Skavaril, just yesterday and today.
The age group (65+) WR holder in 48H.

He stopped at my place on his way from southest point of Tassie to northernest point of QLD in his charity run for Camp Quality - for cancer kids. And I was in his support car, till Berwick
Aldi supermarket, when I pointed to the road ahead saying : this is Princess Hwy, just keep on it till Sydney.
While sitting in the car eating the sandwich and resting, in front of the supermarket, beautifull
young lady came and said to Vlastik :
I saw You last night on the channel 9 news running on Spirit Tasmania, how come You are taking the rest, I thought You cant stop running !
And she gave a donation to the charity, the biggets number of coins I saw in one bunch.

I hope he will find some time on his way back, so we can spend more time together.

Rudolf good luck for your 2000th post. You should hit it by next Friday.

I'd love to meet you one day.

Just for the conversation of course.

If you're ever in Sydney we should have a Rudolf Cool running dinner.

Do you ever come by other than at Christmas time?

Always on the edge, probing, punching, taking some in return, devils advocate one day, great wit the next.  :)

Much, much better than a 1000 posts of sitting on the fence.

always talking shit, pretending he is an expert in everything, never telling us his qualifications, never qualifying his statements with evidence, completely dominating threads with off topic chatter.

Much, much worse than 1000 posts enabling educated, thoughtful discussion.

Actually Rudolf, when it comes to stimulating conversation, WHAT you know is more important.

The name drops do nothing to improve your credibility.

We're waiting for the first person to do that. Only 92 to go, you could do it by next week.  ;)

We all have the opportunity to disagree with the 'theories' and dispute them with forcefull argument. I have taken him on there several times (eg O2 %, Lydiard theories, slow running etc).

I actually thank him for those opportunities, also roll my eyes often but actually acknowledge his meaningfull ones.

Despite your undoubted qualifications, most of your posts have been trivial, which is a shame.

There are many others here who frustrate me with their 'no comment' posts because of who they are arguing against. If you have no comment, don't make a post just to get your numbers up.

Agree or disagree and say why.  :)

Ah Colin, you've just gotta love your posts. You even manage to be antagonistic when defending the indefensible. You seem to love a good argument. You've got to admire that. But at least you generally argue with a rational basis and rely on some evidence from a creditable source. That is all we ask. May the angels be with you.   ;)

Cirque, that was a joke about "power".

Colin, yes You took me on several occasion, You are happy with Your stance, and I am happy with mine. Just because the discussion ended, does not mean that Your oposition accepted Your versions or explanations. My understanding was that we agreed to disagree.
But if You feel the need to count scoring points be my guest.
Actualy after the discussions with You, I increased the time of slow running, thanks for that, was realy beneficial, and is improving my PB on very hilly 10km trail, which I occasionaly
test to see if there is a progress.

Undercover B - I never claimed to be expert in everything. For example, I have no idea how to become a bastard. You can have this expertize all to Yourself.

Great name-dropping from Rudolf, just easing the name of someone 99.99% of people have never heard of into the conversation. You took the words out of my mouth, Cirque- I actually made that exact point to Craig Mottram on the phone just now.

Rudolf has improved in his time on coolrunning, and even when he is completely wrong he is interesting. People looking for fully-referenced and academically sound arguments should steer clear of internet message boards, but I have some lab reports you can read to get you through the winter. Just email me (I use the Harvard system).

Whippet, as if I care what you think   ;)   Really. If you think its fine to have a go at someone (indefensible    ) without provocation , thats ok.

Rudolf--I was just pointing out that I took the opportunities to disagree (agreed to disagree) with you in relation to actual posts you made, and not having a free kick for no reason as others do here.   :)

Yes I know Colin,
as should be.

When You play football (socer), You kick the ball
kick it hard, kick it smart, kick with rotation,
kick enthusiastically, trying to score.
But always the ball only, You never kick the oponent, and actually You never care, who the oponent is.
All You see is the ball and the goal, and there is where Your energy is going.

Your game might be boring for some.

Shit, I guess I'm in trouble then    :)

Just so I'm clear - in that last analogy are we talking about kicking ucb's balls?  That'll shut the little bastard up!    :P    :D

after reading  this thread i would like to propose that in future we put all anti-rudolf posts here.
he has a nasty habit of turning threads into unreadable babble.
some of us find it difficult to ignore him completely    ;)   so i guess this way we can all have our say without destroying several threads on the messageboard.
yours sincerely,
the bastard!

I assume that tim + whippet started this thread
for the purpose of having fun predicting, when in time I will get to the 2000th post.

This is what I would like to say to the point,
hope I will not get accused for messing up the thread or hijacking it (yes, sure !!!)

So will the internet be running uninterupted in the near future ? Nobody knows, there is huge risk it will not.

The escalation of the current ww3 is fully planed and ready to go. We might be only days or weeks from it.

Our leader went to states for the instructions, orderes and coordinations plans. So he is fully briefed and ready.
The war propaganda is running the full steam lately, and all is neeeded to attack Iran is some selfterrorist act. Analysts are predicting
the attack on Europe, possibly as well on states.
That is what is needed for current war mangroll to get public behind them.
It is going to happen soon, and there is a huge risk that that the people running the current administrations have choosen the time of the
Fotbal world championship in Germany, and perhaps even the place. hey have 2 options :
the public full attention turn to footbal, so they will use the distraction to get something nasty and start the war. Or they would use the world attention to footbal to stage something in Germany, when all the media are there, and they can tellecast the "terrorist act" directly, scare the public, get the public angry, and start the war imediately.

Or they will wait few weeks, and get something going later, july-august.

Will the internet survive ? who knows ?
Am I going to produce the posts just to make 2000
before that ? what for ?

Perhaps "tribute" (i.e. something that is said or given as an expression of praise, thanks, admiration, affection) is not the correct word.  May I suggest "recognition" (as in to admit or be aware of something) may be more apt.  We know it will happen, but....

"Tribute"s fine by me.

If its ok for others who reach x000 posts then it should be ok for everyone.   :)

I'm not going to make a judgement about who's worthy or not.

btw, Rudolf's WW3 joke about getting his posts in before internet dies seems to have gone right over the top of some.  :D

Reminds me of 1982 when i saw a TV show on Nostradamus - he predicted 1984 would be the end of the world as a result of a war starting in Persia (sic..Iran?). Two middle East wars later, i'm glad i kept pursuing my career. I don't think i'll be bending over to kiss it goodbye just yet Rudi  :P  . Matey, I'm with you on some of your running related posts, entertained on others, and shake my head on many others. Congrats for next week or so when you get to 2000
