I bought my Polar S625x from these guys a while ago.
I have no complaints about them whatsoever, only praise! Prompt delivery, significantly better prices than available locally and good customer service (I had a few questions I wanted to clear up). Re the warranty. I'm not really sure...they say you can just claim it was a gift from your now-dead grandma, so you can't know what shop she got it from. I hear some other CRs have done this. But, I consider the savings made would cover the cost of most repairs anyway. |

Thought it about time that I report on an ongoing unhappy experience with YouPrice.com.au. I saw the good reports about them on the Garmin thread and had a look at their site. Saw a gadget and ordered it - so far so good - and got an email confirming the order.
A few days later the money went from my account - strike one - US$ billing from a .com.au site. Worked out that they were actually Texas based - when asked they didn't deny it, but it isn't exactly offered info either. OK, so my money is taken and then the email confirming shipping is received. Good stuff. Two weeks later no gadget. As I was about to get in touch to see what the story was Strike two - I get an email - gadget out of stock, a couple of weeks delay. I asked them via web chat what the story was - they were helpful and apologetic, but advised that there was no supplier delivery date, so I was given the option to cancel the order. Fine, I cancelled. Now, a few weeks later there is no sign of the refund (strike three), and today I got an email advising that my order is now filled and is shipping. Of course, I have since gone and bought the gadget elsewhere. Stuck out. I advised YouPrice that I would be letting the denizens of Coolrunning know the situation. I understand that a number of CRs have had good experiences with YouPrice - well done, but my one and only deal with them has been less than successful. I expect I will be updating this email in a week or so advising of my redundant gadget arriving and then offering it for sale here. Cheers Action -------------------- 491

Action,
DId you contact the credit card company? If you never received the goods, you can have the card company reverse the charges. It's then on the company to prove you made the purchase. Chances are they won't bother trying, it's more trouble than it's worth for on-line purchases. -------------------- Running Goals 2009

Have you tried looking at Ebay? Valby - Beware of buying on eBay as warranties usually exclude items bought on eBay. As to Polar, their warranties are international, so it does not matter where you bought it as long as it was an authorised Polar retailer. Polar also specifically excludes warranties on items bought on open auction, eg. eBay. I suggest you have the dealer confirm that it is authorised. -------------------- Pain - Nature's way of telling you you're alive

Valby,
I bought my Polar 625x from the site you are looking at. Extremely happy with the transaction and service. Made the purchase and was delivered within the week. Had 2 or 3 emails regarding the status of my order also. Would definately buy from them again if I had to. Good luck -------------------- "Winners never quit and quitters never win........." QUOTE Beware of buying on eBay as warranties usually exclude items bought on eBay. Polar also specifically excludes warranties on items bought on open auction, eg. eBay. I suggest you have the dealer confirm that it is authorised. A lot of ebay sellers have physical shops, but are willing to sell below Polar's lowest allowed price in order to get a sale. Polar cannot differentiate these sellers as the warranty card is in the box. I have a 625X from ebay that I bought in 2005 for $270 USD with warranty card included. |

I just bought a Timex Trail Runner from Aussiedeals.com.au
They claim to honor manufacturers warantee (though I hope to never find out!) The price was great and it arrived in 6 days from order. (Don't let the name, abn, or Wespac account fool you though... the parcel was mailed from Texas) But what the hell, I'm a happy camper! -------------------- Pain is the sign of weakess leaving the body! |

I bought my Polar sx625 from a local (to me) internet site which I found was the cheapest and an autorized dealer. Being local I was able to go a and pay for it there and pick it up - just had to do the order online... - but still saving the cost of freight.
I've ordered other items from O/S - mostly fromthe US and have had no problems - generally dealing with well known companies. However I am still battling with an Australian mobile phone dealer in Sydney... MFONE. Please beware... I purchased a phone from them last October - all fine and good. Then in May this year they re-processed the purchase TWICE. Its taken months to have the disputed charges removed from my credit card but its not over..... they want BOTH the credits charged back again because MFONE gave me 1 (one) credit voucher for the 2 incorrect charges... go figure.... -------------------- If you can't be a good example, you'll just have to be a horrible warning!
