Hi,
I know there's a few of you contemplating doing the 32km option on the 20th June. Is there any Ultra soles/souls out there coming to do the 64km option on the day? Chance to set a Course record! :) Hope so - would hate to put on an Ultra race and no one turn up! <_< Bye all- I'll even make a deal - 1 frog for 32km participants and 2 frogs for 64km participants (or 2 donuts by prior arrangement!) Phil |

Phil
Went as far as looking up airfares on the internet but with the return airfares over the 300 dollar mark there is a lot of resistance on the home front. Jetstar the most expensive. Good luck with the event. |

Coming from a "Fair way"?? Does this mean the Ladies Man lives on a golf course?

Phil,
I must have missed something because I had it down as being on the 4/7 but now it's on the 20/6, when did this happen?? Unfortunately, this earlier date mean that there's know way I can make it now as I was hopeing that in another month I possibly may have been ready (coming back from injury). |

Sorry Obi-Wan.
It was changed a couple of weeks ago due to the clash with Gold Coast and Pitchi Richi. The rationale was that if it was moved a couple of weeks before the Gold Coast, it might attract a few Melb Marathon runners wanting to do the 32km 2 weeks prior. It was advertised fairly extensively here on the Coolrunnings page and via other Net resources. I also did email several club entities in the Vic region about the date change. Once again - sorry. http://www.coolrunning.com.au/ultra/2003021.shtml |

Calling all Vic runners - if you know any other Long Distance runners that might have been wanting to do the Bellarine Rail Trail on the 20th June, but dont know that the date has changed from 4th July. Please could you email them the link - which has the info.

No dramas Phil,
I was away (no net access) and thus must have missed it. I'll catch up with you another day. May the force be with you on the 20/6. |

This 64 kilometre race is one I want to do, but I'm committed to the Gold Coast marathon this year.
I'm sorry Phil, I don't think even 32 kilometres two weeks before that would be the best preparation my aging body could manage. But, funny, there aren't too many longer events in August, are there? Could a shift to August be the thing next year? All the best to all those CRs and other in it anyway. |

Thanks "Awiseman". I missed your feedback and suggestion.
I'm already involved in another event in August. That's the Hobsons Hobble which was founded by Graham Ives and is 55km in distance. It's scheduled for August 1st and info can be found at http://www.coolrunning.com.au/ultra/hobsons/ I won't be there that day, but Im sure Kevin Cassidy will look after you on the day. I suppose Kevin and myself can look at the scheduling of the "Bellarine/Hobsons - Mid-winter Fat Ass series and adjust it for next year..... But only 2 weeks till the Bellarine Rail trail - Im looking forward to meeting everyone and hopefully initiating the start of another long term successful Ultra in Australia! :) |
