The track has been top dressed and I am devising a devious plan so that we will still have a course.
As GoGirl has mentioned there will be a big BBQ and Raffle held in conjunction with tonights race.
Any questions regarding U2 will be also answered.
Interesting fact, last night they played a song called All I want is you, it was the first time since 1990 that they played that song so a pretty special occasion.(Nothing to do with the race, but thought some of you may be interested in knowing).

Coast to Kosciuszko was well represented. Brick, Go-Girl & Martin Dugdale.
Also there many wearing Six Foot Track shirts. Maybe one day.
Hills Happy Hoofers were also there. Bounder just cruised around. I had a good race with Wal from Hoofers.
M.I.A AaronR, Photogirl. Fast Bob turned up late & didn't run, he looked quite sharp.
BBQ was yummy.
Great work by Hills Athletics Club.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome and especially Steve dragging my butt around the last 2 laps of the 5K! Couldn't believe the amount of food and stuff put on at the conclusion, a job well done to all.
Am sure I will back for subsequent events.

Lots of food, plenty of drinks, lots of prizes.
We ran on the outskirts of the track and after some careful calculations worked out the distances.
Brick got just over 3km for his measurement of the 3k course and I got just over 5km for the 5km course so pretty happy with our guesses.
Thanks to everyone who turned up, it was a great end to the year.

I got 3.06kms on my garmin and happy with my 12:53 after last weekends slow jog.
Was a great evening mostly chatting with friends and a great BBQ.
Thanks all involved with organsing HillsAths events/races for the year it really is apreciated by the athletes expecially HillsAths1 who seems to be at the track all day/night. A big thank you and I think I am still improving which is good at my age.

Using tonight as a tester to see how much speed I have lost the last few months of 100 miler races.

Now will AaronR make it to the start line tonight? Hope so, I can use him as a wind break.
Going to have to find someone else to be your windbreak.(I reckon hillsath will be happy to pace you after his 9k warm up) Race Car prep tonight for me. besides, your on fire Thomo, I'd be chasing you down! Will see how we go for next month. Wife will be back by then too, So will be able to Train a little bit.

Need to work on my pacing though.
Huge field of 48. Track and people handled that number really well.
Photogirl had a great debut.
BluesBuffet & Freezer had a good battle. Will let one or both of them tell their story.
Thanks HillsAths1 & club / crew for putting this monthly run on.

Pretty happy with 13:58 for 3k and the last 400m in 1:46.
Plenty of CR's in attendance (spoke with Freezer, thomo, Photogirl, Martin Dugdale, Brick, slowmc, HillsAths1 and others); I think it's fair to say they were all fired up, with each having a great run.
Thanks Steve and the Hills gang, this is a really good motivational run and great value at $2.
See you next month.
cheers, BB

Sure was crowded out there on the track last night.

The upgrade of the track has resulted in some great improvements to the surface and I am sure that it will only get better.
There were some great times there last night.
Checking on the Entry sheet there were 51 starters, which I am pretty sure is a record, track was a little packed but most of the participants held their line so were not too much of a problem.
If we continue to get these size fields (and larger) We may have to consider a 3k and a 5k race at different times. At the moment I am not in favour of this as many start off doing the 5km and during the race decide to do the 3km.
Also the pace of the 3km runners helps to drag some of the 5k runners through to some faster times.
But I am open to discussion, remembering that the run is not a State Championship or the Olympics and the only reward is a soft drink and some Bakers Delight!

Bounder the usual keeper of the records is away, so It has fallen to me to do the results.
Please note where it shows as 22.5 that means the time is 22 minutes and 50 seconds.
48 Finishers

Some very good performances. Mine was not a Y.T.D P.B, I did try though.
Thanks to Hills Athletics for putting on this great monthly series. Thanks to Bakers Delight for the after race fare.

Was very humid and even rained for a little bit of the race.
I managed to do the 5km in 19:37, 20 seconds faster than last month and only 9 seconds off my PB.
So very happy with my efforts.
Thanks Hills Aths and Bakers Delight for a great evening of running and then talking/eating/drinking with friends.
Photogirl was taking photos for R4YL Magazine which will be interetsing to see.

Difficult to get fast times tonight with the high humidity.
Great to see some new runners there tonight as well as many old faces.
It makes it all worthwhile when so many come along and have a good night out.

Cost is still only $2

Track is in pretty good condition at the moment so I can see some fast times coming up. I did some 300m runs last night and the time keeper was very nice to me with most being under 60 seconds so a good sign that I may get a quick run in. Have to decide on 3k or 5k.

Plenty of PB's recorded last night with Greyhound racer doing a 16.36.
A number of absences due to rain/6 FT/ SMC/Little A's State etc so very happy with the number last night.
