Hi
I've just been given a pair of Spira Del Sols by my sweetheart for valentines. She bought them in the US on the recommendation of a friend's husband who swears by them and does 5-6 marathons annually including NYC, Boston. I have only done a total of about 15k in them at this stage & they feel very exciting. Their claim of additional rebound from the spring in the sole appears justified. The del sol only have 1 spring in the heel whereas other models also have an additional 1 or 2 springs in the forefoot sole. I am going to use them instead of my Kayano 12's for a long endurance run (25-30k) within the next 3 weeks (I have to psychologicly start preparing myself now to run a major distance without my Kayanos!) so I'll let you know how they preform suffice to say, the indicators at this stage are very encouraging.

I bought a pair about 4-5 months ago on the recommendation of the store owner who sugested up to 5% improvement in times.
I would not recommend them as I have a narrow foot and the shoes themselves are quite clunky in their design(presumably to contain the springs).
I also found it hard to use my normal running technique as the shoes were pretty solid and did not allow for the normal flex in the heel/toe. I did also notice that I picked up some shin soreness around the time I started wearing them, not sure if it is related though.
Nice idea though, the shoes when I bought them felt very heavy in the hand but when you put them on they actually appear to be quite light.
Sorry to put a dampner on the shoes, but I just think that the $150 I spent on the shoes could have been better spent, I now have a very expensive, very little used pair of walking shoes.
