Hi,

I suffer from plantar fasciitis and a tight budget. I'm trying multiple methods to overcome the PF (ice after exercise, supportive shoes, taping my feet, massaging my foot with a tennis ball, stretching the calves and achilles tendon regularly) and I'm looking to try night splints as some people find them very effective. I've had PF for 18 months now and it's driving me insane!

My question is, even though I have the PF in both feet can I buy one sock, use it on one foot until it's (hopefully) better then use it for the other foot? They're bloody expensive and I can't afford two, especially since they're not a guaranteed cure in all cases.

I guess my second question would be, does anyone here know a place that sells Strassburg Socks cheap? I've found one site that has them for $AU58.50 which seems to be the most affordable so far.

Thanks!

ETA: Crisis averted! I ended up making my own using wide elastic, knee-high socks and some canvas. Just call me MacGyver with a sewing machine. :)

Hi EWQ,
I had Plantar Fascia for 4 years and it drove me nuts....now I'm a Sports Physiotherapist and believe me I tried everything...the Strassburg sock was good and definitley helped my morning pain. I had injections, orthotics, stretching, calf massage (which helped too), ultrasound shock wave therapy (expensive and no help). What fixed mine in the end was running in bare feet!! Landing on the ball of the foot instead of the heel slowly strengthened my feet and within 3to4 months it was gone....send me an email if you like and I'll send some more info. I'm running better than ever now.
Cheers Richard

You are so crafty evilwombatqueen- I paid $75 for mine last week at the physio and now I am forcing myself to keep trying to sleep with it on because it is so uncomfortable but so expensive! Lets hope it works.
