Just seeing if anyone else has had a similar experience with Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6. I am on the 7/8th pairs of adrenalines, my 3/4th of the GTS6. The first two pairs of 6's I had were the plain silver colour, and a EE fitting, and the two I currently have a re d fittings in orange.

The first two 6's I had were fine, but the two orange sixes are both rock hard, and they have only done about 350 k's each. They have been rock hard from the start, and I can barley stand to run in them any more, having said that, it's $400 worth of shoes that I don't exactly want to replace just yet.

Anyone else had any experience with hard GTS 6's? Are the GTS7's with mogo any better? anyone got any 7's on special?

or is it better to abandon the brooks and head over to the asics 2120's...

i have been running in a pair of adrenaline gts 7s for a couple of weeks, and i must say i love them a lot more than the gts6, i am a longtime brooks wearer too. i was looking at other shoes as well! but since wearing the gts7 i am very happy.

I am a long time Brooks Adrenaline user too - I'm on my 7th pair, last three have been GTS6.
I haven't had a problem with the GTS6 - but I have only had the white/blue/silver coloured ones. Steered away from the orange ones. Perhaps it is only the orange GTS6 that are a problem?

I didn't know there was a GTS7 out yet - I've got about another month left on my current shoes so I'll check these out soon!

I had similar heel problems Greg with the Orange 6's, although I am still wearing them and it might be said I have forgotten what a good shoe feels like!.

The wear and the forefoot are both OK though.

Early on I felt I was getting something like PF because the heels in these shoes were too hard. I brought this under control through icing and using gel heel pads. If you take out the liner, the heel pad below is not soft like some shoes, and almost feels like it is made out of a wooden substance.

Whilst I am not geting any more heel pain now I would think twice before buying another pair of Adrenalines. On a positive note for Brooks, I had 2 pairs of Vapors when I first started and loved them, so my next shoe could be another pair of them or maybe the Asics 2120's.

I am a long term Adrenaline user but did notice that the Orange GTS6 felt a lot different. I didn't stay in them for long (the orange ones).

I am now on the 7 series and doing really well (aoart from the pink colour for the girls....when will they learn??) .
I think they are slightly narrower than the 6's I got so I don't tend to enjoy being in them for more than 3hrs but that was my fault when I tried them on and nothing about the shoe design.

I have also been a long time user of Brooks Adrenaline, currrently wearing GTS 6 and about to change to ASICS 2120s as well. The Brooks do seem a bit hard, and a bit dissapointing in some ways. Their was a recent discussion on this below which is interesting reading .

Wow,
Here I was thinking it was just me.
slowaz, I have a bruised right heel and am also using gel pads to help.

Glad to hear the 7's are better to run in. (do they make pink ones for boys? It is mardi gras season down here...)
I tried on some 7's the other day, but hte last felt straighter, i.e. my big toes were touching the inside side of the shoe, as though they needed to curve just a little more. Hmmmmm.

Maybe the orange colouring made the shoe too hard. Where is our lurking brooks rep when you need him

Greg if you look a the photo in my profile you should be able to see that I am wearing the orange perils. This was in the 2006 Melb marathon whch I brought them specially for - but after breaking them in, started to think they might make me miss it.

At the time I was worried it was PF coming on. I gave the shoes a second chance and fiddled around with various insoles to see if I could make them more comfortable. I ended up running the marathon with a "store bought" orthotic in one shoe and an adidas insole the other - as I could not get the orthotic thing to fit properly.

Subsequently, me heels got better and I have been regularly running in the orange perils (back to standard apart from the gel hel pads now) pretty much since Xmas without a problem, although I am looking forward to getting into something more comfy soon.

I used to be a real fan of the Brooks Adrenaline, having gone through at least 6 pairs in the last 3 years, but agree that the Adrenaline 6 was very different to previous models. I thought it was thinner and much less cushioned and supportive particularly in the forefoot. Also the shoe felt like it had a much lower ride, was much more rigid, and not conducive for "faster" running.

I am now a fan of the Brooks Glycerin and Axiom. I have found that using an orthotic in a neutral shoe works better for me than opting for a motion control shoe.

I actually liked the bright pink ladies Brooks Adrenaline 6. I believe the shoe was used to promote breast cancer research and awareness, so that got the thumbs up!

Yes, NRMA member 20% sale is on tomorrow (Thurs 8-Feb). Just don't stock up on the untried or tested gear. At the last sale I bought my second pair of the Adrenaline 6, but now I regret it. They're still in the box.

Same deal fro me as the original post by Greg.

I have been a long term user of Adrenaline's but the orange one's have co-incided with an ugly run of injuries for me. Pediatrician reckoned that the new models were too stiff to accommodate the varus nature of my feet.

Might return to the DS Trainers this week.

Reading this put a huge smile on my face. I'm going throught the same problem right now and been told I have PF... barely able to walk some mornings.
I've been a long time wearer of Adrens so very dissapointed reading they dropped the ball with this one . I wonder if it's worth writing in to tell them?

Anyway I'm off to the store tonight to buy a new pair of shoes. The decision will be to go the Mogo 7's or another brand

Interesting.
Last year, when some of us found a cheap source of Brooks shoes in the US, the supplier got a letter from Brooks in the US telling him to stop sending shoes out of the US within a few days of us posting on this site, and yet here we are, loyal customers with genuine problems and not a peep........
