nope, haven't been able to get on all day.

didn't realize i was starting to become a compulsive checker of that site until it disappeared.

does this happen to transitions from time to time? or is this something new?

Thomo - I made the offer once before to Bernie - but CR has a massive amount of bandwidth and in the spirit of cooperation we'd be happy for Transitions to share our hosting deal at I can guarantee lower than she is paying now. CR is super-industrial strength.

However previously there was no response from trannies. maybe they thought we weren't serious.

or is it that transitions is just a fair way down the priority list, and transferring etc. gets put off.

she is very seldom seen on the site, yet i notice she has a high post count, so her active involvement basically has to predate mid 2006, when i registered over there.

i did suggest to bourne that he should buy it off her. (no response)

Hopefully she will take you up on the offer now.

She may be on another holiday blissfully unaware of the problem.

Edited to respond to Rohan.

Gday Kev, I believe she is getting 'advice' from another party about transitions. This other party I am lead to believe has the idea that transitions will be a money maker. Last year (or maybe the year before) she offered it for sale and there was a buyer all ready to go and she did not get back to him, at all, ever, then she whacked up the google ads to allegedly pay for the next hosting package so it would never run out....... like it does every month.....still ;)

I need to get my eyes checked. I was certain I was in the second swim pack but it appears I was second out of the water......... Two packs of one I s'pose.

That wind would have been a nice companion on the way home for you. Yuck.

If nothing else, the Trannies meltdown has boosted registrations for AP.
I was hot, standing around in jeans watching at Raby Bay today.
Got to yell at Plaz, from the other side of the road, while he was on the run though.
Good chat with Kandingo too.

good to see you doing some short races Plaz. That's the best way to get the mojo back for your preferred longer stuff ;)

finding mojo is overrated. sometimes you can just enjoy being in a reduced training 'rut'.

so long as you're maintaining some fitness and health, then A. it's good for you, and B. it's not like scaling everest all over again to get back toyour peak.

i was questioning of plazbot's 'long' run over on transitions, but it makes sense if he's on some sort of hiatus. a 90-100min run is a lot higher fitness than the vast majority of the population.

I'm certainly starting to suffer withdrawal!!!

Myself and Andy run a little golf website (ok, he runs most of it ^_^ ) and we have kept ourselves non-commercial the whole time. I just haven't wanted to go down that path, although we still get the odd email about having banners etc etc. We have a few donation links where any members who want to can make a donation to the running of the site when they want to. It helps cover our costs, which was all I wanted.

Little things like that can make a difference. $10 a year from a member goes a long way when quite a few do it. And the trannies seem to love their site and I'm sure many would do something like that. I know I would!

Racing short and in particular looking at Olympic distance. Doing the Daniels thing and long run is 25%ish percent of weekly volume. For me, including stop start for traffic lights and stuff that is my 18km run to or from work once a week. Sometimes I do it as a slightly quicker run depending. The guy asking the question was talking Olympic from memory if it is the same thread I am thinking of. 60km a week is a figure that I know I can sustain without making an effort to get the extra done.

I have to get satisfaction over Miners who I think beat me last time we went head to head over the Olypic distance ;)

I moved a bunch of posts that could best be described as "trichat" to a trichat thread here given they were nothing to do with transitions being up nor down.

Was back an hour ago, but is gone again. Andyp and I have a forum that used to get something like this once in a while. You pay for what bandwidth you can afford and you think is enough. But this month would have been heavy with IMOZ posting. Hopefully it's a monthly account and will be back up by Tuesday. Bit tougher for non-commercial sites I guess.

you'll probably find some trannies spending more time on slowtwitch and AP, or Cycos site, if you miss them too much.

Apparently there has been a "problem with the billing" and Bernie is away at the moment. I believe her son is trying to rectify the problem but because of time difference it is causing some delay.

So sit tight y'awl and prove to yourselves that we can get by without it. :Shame On You: Yes we can :D

: RE: Forum broken?

xxxx, you would be correct in guessing this email has been inundated with emails.

Bernie has been away on holiday, and there was a problem with the billing to invision (the company that operates the board). I will try my hardest to resolve the issue ASAP, however I’m currently in exam period, so please be understanding in that I can’t resolve it right now. I’ve attempted to contact the company, however being in the U.S. their offices are closed until tonight (our time), so please allow at least 24 hrs for this to be resolved. In the absolute worst case scenario, it shall be operating again by Friday once Bernie arrives back in Australia.

Also to note, it is not just your account that has been suspended, it’s all of transitions that is down, so please don’t panic and think that you’ve been singled out for any reason.
Hope this helps, and sorry for the inconvenience,

(Bernie’s son)
