I have been faithful to the Asics GT 2xxx series for the last three years and have loved them. They have provided just the right amount of stability, fit and cushioning to my moderate overpronating flat feet. For the record, am a male, age 38, 157 pounds.
I hear that the new AST 10+ has got some rave reviews and the Runners World Editors Choice award etc…I am looking at some alternatives to the Asics GT 2xxx series, just to try something new.
So, fellow GT 2xxx lovers, have you tried the AST 10+ and how do they compare?

I have ran in 2070 - 2110s and Kayanos. I just bought the AST 10+ and they feel more like the kayano (snug fit) with better cushioning then both the asics, but with possibly more heel lift. Asics cushioning doesnt seem to last very long, hence my decision to try Nike. Im around 90-95kg.

I've been through many a pair of GT2---s and Kayanos and have never had a problem, although they do start to feel like planks of wood after about 600km. I tried a pair of New Balance 767s to see if I'd get better wear out of them due to the more substantial sole and all I got was sore shins and ankles. I'm sure there's nothing inherently wrong with the shoe - in fact, I think they'd be particularly good for larger runners.
The question is, if the Asics work then why change them? I'm only experimenting because I travel a lot in SE Asia where shoes are about half the price but, strangely, Asics are rarely available. Nike's are though, so I may give the AST10s a try next time round.

I have always been an Asics fan either Kayano or 2xxx Recently I was in the Nike clearance shop at harbour town and spotted AST 9 for $80 so I thought i would give them a try. I am now a fan and will stick with them over the asics. They a very comfortable shoe with great cushining. I believe the AST 10 are even better

I have also used either the Asics Kayanos or 2000 series for several years. Last year and this year, I have had the opportunity to try out the Nike Structures. This year's model (10+) is and improvement on last years, as it has more flex in the forefoot, somethong I found lacking in the 9's last year. I wouldn't have thought I'd be swayed from the Asics, but now I'd say thet the Structures are quite coparable to the 2000's in quality and function.

I've also worn the Asics 2000 series for almost as many years!
However, after reading a review , in RW I think, of the Nike Air Pegasus 2006, I decided to give it a try & for me it seems to be the best trainer I've ever worn....better cushioned, lighter & a more comfortable ride. Occasionally I've switched back to the Asics 2xxx, out of guilt for not wearing fairly new shoes, but always end up with an ache or pain somewhere in & around the ankle area.
I never thought the day would come when I'd change from Asics 2xxx series....but it has! LL
