Hi Tim,

There are two (probably more!) that I am aware of one is CoolRunners of Australia and the other is Coolrunners of Face Book unite.  The later is an international one with the link to the American site.

Cheers,

Danny

Just a warning to all Facebook users.

Please be very careful with the information that you display in your profile etc... I have information that identity fraud has been rife on Facebook and sites simular to this. The less information you give the better.

When you look at some profiles they are providing full names, date of birth, address, work details etc...and a nice picture to go along with it! If your friends want your details get them to send you an e-mail.

Anyone up for a game of Scrabble?

I'm just a bit surprised that it's only the CIA behind it all. I was led to believe from the mine of knowledge & information that cool running is, that The Royal Family and Prince Phillip were the main instigators of all things conspiratory!

Yes you can.  I am in the middle of a game with 4 people.  Slowed up a bit though I have not had a go for a few weeks.

I just started a game with you - just to let you know Jenny helps me I am not that good.

Blair is going through a massive 'group leaving' mission?

On another note, I'm getting sick of all the applications and 'invitations' to do quizzes, etc.
I don't want to use facebook for those silly purposes.

I don't see having harmless silly fun with your friends as crap.

Facebook is not good or bad, it is just a computer program.   what you do with it is up to you.

Oh I have to go I need to find out what vegetable am I

I think the applications come and go.  Aquariums were huge - then not so much, srabulous was huge then not so much etc etc.  I love Facebook and I am not ashamed to say it.  I have got back in touch with many old running friends and stayed in touch even whilst o/s for 4 months - it's lovely.

Sunset - not really sure how you can say one application/use is sillier than another though

Actually, Facebook is primarily a commercial enterprice (Mircosoft just bought 1.6% of it for US$ 240million).
Regarding "good or bad", their current privacy policy "We may use information about you that we collect from other sources, including but not limited to newspapers and Internet sources such as blogs, instant messaging services and other users of Facebook, to supplement your profile." (direct quote) does qualify as "evil" in my book.

I think that the people who designed/run facebook are evil and can use the information for nefarious purposes. I can't believe some people are so trusting of the internet. Maybe if we were living in some utopian society where evil intentions (and people) were stamped out then by all means it might be nice. The amount of data mining opportunities that facebook presents are staggering in terms of privacy. Basically if you use facebook give up any notion of having personal information kept private.

BTW, I use facebook but try to minimise the amount of info on there.

do you really think anyone cares about you individually?  I think all you guys think you are more important then you are.  Microsoft does not care about Joe Blog.  To Microsoft Joe is 12% of their info base who are male, 41, works with computers, likes to buy running stuff from ebay and watches Heroes and House.

You guys think you have some privacy but you have none.  The only privacy any of us enjoy is that given to us by our own insignificance.

The world is getting smaller by the minute and the crooks are getting smarter. If your are naive enough to enter your personal details for the world to see, then you deserve what you get IMHO.

Look here and here and hereand here.

Its easy to get carried away with this stuff - most of us exist in big customer relationship data bases that track most things you do by virture of your credit card purchases and electronic transactions you make.

From this information its easy to work out your travel movements, things you eat, what you like to buy who you like to buy for, where you live, your income etc etc...

These CRM data bases are not more or less secure in relative terms that the systems face book uses.  Marketing companies mine them all the time, guess where all those unsolicited letters from various banks asking you to sign up for products come from!

Its an electronic age and if you take these things to their nth degree you can really scare yourself!
