Over the last 12-18 months the Shepparton Runners club have been training about 6-8 children. Today I decided to test out one of our better runners .
Young Amanda (11 y.o.)
Test run 1 km in under 4 mins.
I think she can do it. !
I gave her some instructions at the start (eg run fast)
I started with her (o.k. thats 5 steps)
She was off like a greyhound , I had the clock on her as she pulled away, almost out of sight.
I stopped the clock for the first time when she crossed the line at 3:40 mins. I fell across the line (after a hard days work ) at 4:15 mins.
What a champ . 6 months ago I would of crossed the line first. Now I must admit she does run for Coburg . But she is a SHEPP GIRL through and through. And Coburg will not claim this one.

what a shame she has since then decided to be a Walker out at Eaglehawk. A great club for walkers, but a great loss for Coburg and Shepparton
