I know there's a couple of Transitions people on here (Plaz you there??). Anyone else having trouble connecting to the Trannies site? I haven't been able to connect for a few days and wondering what the story is. Or is it just me?

Same as you.

I can't get past the click to enter.

I sent them an email this afternoon. No response.

Maybe they went on holiday and didn't thik there would be any connection or other issues.

Might have to use the site that can not be mentioned on tranies without being lambasted.

That is what I said JoggerKev.

I will say it again we are angels compared with transitions.

I think they chased all the moderators out of Salem.

There was a post from the mods about an update that might take about 24hrs.

It seems to be taking a bit longer :)

My bet is it won't be up until Jan 1st

Kevin, that's like saying the remote opens the car doors but the keys don't actually start the car :)

"Transitions itself" are the "forums".

Ditto, why most people come onto CR.

Happens every year at this time. They do some work on the end that is in the States allegedly. Being a weekend, things are taking forever and I wonder if the hosting company aren't actually closed down for the xmas NY break and just turn everything off so as to avoid support issues. I am guessing we probably wont see anything till Tuesday our time at best.

that's the first time i've ever seen the home page.
have only ever come in via the trichat section.. and yes sunset, it is one big unsorted bucket of stuff.

the 'arrangement' does mean, however, that you know what the hot topics are right now as they'll be on the first page.
unfortunately on CR it's less obvious as there are so many separate buckets.
a topic could be near the top of a list because it gets one post per day, or 50 posts per day, and you can't tell unless you click on them.
(suggestion, maybe one of those fiery 'hot topic' icons like on some forums. or just the plain old red icon like on trannies.)

... then of course there's the hidden buckets on CR, that don't even show on the main page. talking about the OT chatter stuff, hijackers et al.

rohan - on the home page of cr you can click very latest topics and it just gives the same view as per trannies ie just the very latest posts, no hiding, no buckets etc. I suspect most avid readers of cr don't look at the homepage either.

Very true. I never go to the homepage but rely entirely on the "view latest posts" link which is why I was so glad trannies uses the same software and hence has the same feature.

I used to mark that link to 'favourites' and hop straight there. However, I suspect the URL changes slightly afterr some time period, as it wouldn't work after some time (forget how long) and I'd have to resave to 'favourites'.

Either that or come through the home page, which tests your patience a fair bit.

you're right, the link ceases to work very quickly.

That doesn't seem to be a problem for me. I suspect that you are copying the URL from the address bar? What I do is right-click the 'View New Posts' link and select 'Copy Link Location' then bookmark that URL which doesn't seem to expire. Hope this makes sense.

Anti-forum serum kicked in nicley here, shut down period over work and no trannies = major increase in training. I might just make Geelong yet

Received an email reply today and said everything should be okay.

Clicked on their site and now it points me to asian dvds forum website.

So, did anybody else have the same problem?

Got another email and advised The DNS has just been changed on the server so it’ll take up to 24 hours for all the ISP’s to update.

So tomorrow it is.

Slightly off topic, but when I see someone wearing Transitions gear, am I meant to call out "GO TRANNIE" like I would GCR?

I saw one this morning :Nail Biting:

I wondered that myself when I saw one down at Riverside one day. But you'd probably be better asking on Trannies :Nail Biting:

"Go Trannie" is indeed the correct order of greeting.

Incidentally, I've generally found that proportionately more Trannies have their names embroidered on their caps than do CRs. So a follow-up "Go Plaz" after snapping your neck round to see who you've just passed is also accepted protocol :Nail Biting:

I'm thinking that GO TRANNIE might attract even more curious looks from people than GCR

Yes you are, it gets more awkward when you are looking for Trannies and ask "are any of you Trannies?", you'd generally want to be pretty sure before you asked. :D

It does get confusing when a person has a different name on trannies than they have on coolrunning :D
