Gday all
Did you all know that Paul's Warehouse is closing down? It's under administation and everything must go. I dont work there or anything but it seems they are serious about getting rid of everything. I bought 2 pairs of Asics 2130 today. they have selected sized for the current range of shoes, but if your looking for other shoes for tennis or netball or walking then they have alot of older models heaps cheap.
Also i spotted bodyglide in a 1.3 oz or 63.9gram tube for $20.
happy shopping

Hi,
Are you sure they are in administration? They looked like they were for a while in 2006-07 but seem to have sorted that out late last year...
Businesses can run for years under administrators, so if you have heard anything further, let us know.
Cheers

They had a big ad in the paper on sunday with a message from the administrators.
Just went to the Sydney CBD store and wasn't impressed. They had the usual junk which occupies 90% of the store. The remaining stuff just wasn't on sale enough. The new Asics 3000 were on sale for $210. Stringers sports has them not on sale for $219. If you are closing down then put on a decent sale.

There was also a BIG add in the Sunday papers about them closing down, looked pretty final to me.
Whenever I've been into one of their stores they've been such a mess and the staff that I dealt with didn't seem to know much either it isn't a wonder they're closing
kazz.

Just spoke to Melbourne store (Endeavous Hills) and they are matching Rebel Sports sale of Asics Kayano 13's for $160. Sale ended at Rebel today and sizes not available but website is still advertsiing $160 and they are honouring that price (plus $10 postage) until they fix up website price back to $199.
Good for me because I went up an extra half size in the Kayano 14's and i'm not sure they feel as snug

I visited the homebush store on the weekend. All the Brooks were gone, but they did have plenty of cheap ASICS left.

it is disappointing to learn that Paul's is closing down. I have made many purchases from there Port Kembla (Wollongong) store over the years. The two pairs of shoes for the price of one deals were great - I got several Asics DS trainers for less $90 per pair on this deal. Also, the running clothing that they stock with the left overs from sporting events were always high quality and excellent bargains - where else could you find top quality nike running singlets for $15 each?

I just went to CBD store. Prices don't seem all that flash to me.

Although not a big fan of Pauls,( due to them not honouring a gift voucher) it will be sad to see them go. I guess it will leave a fairly substantial hole in the retail market for footwear. It may also mean that we will all have to pay extra for shoes as they have kept some pressure on the market to keep prices down.
I guess that some of the issues that may have led to their demise include, staff who are mostly indifferent to selling sports wear and associated products. Consistently advertising shoes that they did not have(or copious amounts of size 14 only) and having large stocks of high priced equipment like treadmills, rowing machines etc.
I am thinking that with the higher value Aus dollar that if the other retailers do not get their acts together, we may all be doing some online therapy on some American websites.

Exactly, Runningwarehouse had some pretty flash prices for the Kayano 13's (but not in my size) and the 14's are $135US - less than $150 Aus dollars. Could be some bargains coming up!!!

What makes running shoes so costly in Australia, the prices seem outrageous.
I just bought a pair of 2120’s for US$120 locally here in Jakarta where I live, I also see latest Kyanos for $140. The smaller specialist running market argument does not seem make sense, it even smaller here still they are still way cheaper.

I went back yesterday and they had pulled out a whole heap of Brooks Adrenaline (my shoe of choice). They are a couple of seasons old (the ones before MOGO), but they are new and being sold for under $100.
