1st trains over the Sydney Harbour Bridge are

Central 5.09 5.28 5.35 5.43 5.58 6.05 6.13
Town Hall 5.12 5.31 5.38 5.46 6.01 6.08 6.16
Wynyard 5.15 5.34 5.41 5.49 6.04 6.11 6.19
Milsons Point 5.19 5.38 5.45 5.53 6.08 6.15 6.23
North Sydney5.22 5.41 5.48 5.56 6.11 6.18 6.26

There are nightrider buses before this. But I wouldn't be pinning my hopes getting on one of those.

AS a back of the pack runner (however not running this weekend) I wouldn't get there much before time (after I had looked after my toilet needs.

If you are mid front to middle than get there a half an hour tops before this.

Um.... is ther a "Martin Place Station"?! I thought I saw one on the city rail website... or on a map...

There is, but it will not get you directly to Milsons Point. It is on the Bondi Junction to Sutherland (blue) line. Milsons Point is on the North Shore (yellow) line. You'd have to change at Town Hall.

If you are staying near Martin Place, leg it to Wynyard station which is just one stop across the bridge to Milsons Point.

Yes there is.  It's on a different line to Milson's Pt, North Sydney etc.  You would change at Town Hall.

There's a rail network map at http://www.cityrail....kmaps/index.jsp

I park in the City and enjoy a pleasant walk over the bridge as the sun rises. I usually then see the half marathoners as I am coming off the Bridge. I then have plenty of time to get ready for the start of the marathon.

From Wynard the walk would be 30 minutes. A perfect gentle warm up and a great sunrise usually thrown in.

It's ok Stella, my navigational skills have been well documented on this site.  I believe we are staying at the same hotel, just follow me.... :D

Seriously though, we can walk to Wynard Station (688 metres - at our sort of speed we could do that in about three minutes) and hop on a train there which will take 4 minutes.  There is a train at 5.41 arriving 5.45.  You can wee on the train if you can do it in four minutes, ok?

Good news on the wind for Sunday.
Temp is still forecast to be 15-23 degrees and mostly sunny.

Wind is now forecast as a light 7kph Northerly by 9am. For the Marathon runners the North East seabreeze is supposed to come up late morning at 23kph so get back before that happens as you will run back to the City into it.

Good luck to all runners for Sunday, especially first time marathoners. If productivity is down today, then you're probably not alone.

For 9km runners I'll hopefully see you out there.

Best map I could find of the 9km course with km markers is here.

The markers on this general course map look a bit less accurate being in miles .

Good luck to all CR's on Sunday. Enjoy the races - whichever you may be taking on.  But especially to all first time marathoners. Looks like the weather will behave itself and I am sure it will be a great day.  I hope to get down to throw a cheer or two your way.

Welcome to all interstaters - I hope you enjoy Sydney town and safe journeys to you all.

Have a good weekend - keep well and happy!

Good luck to everyone running!

Unfortunately I don't think I'll be running as I haven't done any training for the last 3+ weeks due to a stubborn cold. :D  I'm pretty much over it and might be OK on Sunday, but this cold has "regrouped" so many times that I don't want to risk aggravating it

I was really looking forward to doing the Bridge run as I haven't done another fun run apart from the C2S for more than 10 years. I missed out on running it last year as I had a bad case of the flu after the C2S. At least I didn't get the flu this year... Maybe next year?

Actually they tend to close the station toilets during big events and force everyone to use portaloos.  They did during World Youth Day.

WYD would of been for security reasons.

Hopefully they will be open.
