 Plod, maybe we need a (hmmm what do you call a gaggle of dancers, a troupe is it?) of cheerbitches. Perhaps we need to organise an Oz tour to audition talent.

Australia's Best Cheerleader?

Bugger the dancing, we can just get loads of hot guys in and see if their legs would do the skirts justice.  I have one or two in mind already....  ;)

Well, you would be the judge seeing as it's your business venture, but I do humbly offer my services as your assistant should the task become too great for you.  Maybe I could be the backstage beauty therapist, you know, doing all the crappy jobs like applying fake tan to all the hot boys.  And massaging their poor little stiff shoulders if they get a bit tense about the competition...?

You nearly fell off the radar here!  Sheesh you need to keep their profile high!  Hey I was thinking of some great marketing material for you, let me know what you think.  Here goes:

Let the wind rush though your hair as you run in the new runner girl skirt - swoosh!

Got my running skirt order yesterday - very fast service as usual.

Not sure I like the Mojito green colour (Mr Sook's verdict - "disgusting"!) but the Supergirl skirt is pretty nice in cut. It's definitely not knee-length on me, more like 15cm above (but that's maybe because I have to order the smallest size, cos of losing my bum since taking up running :o). I'm wondering about dying it to something more tasteful.

The gymgirl ultra in black is veeery cool, orlando. It has a lovely hot pink insert in the shorties at the front, perhaps to make up for the fact that the rest of the shorties are seethrough black elasticated mesh  :) The thing I like is the eyelet hole on the right hip of the skirt for your ipod headphone cord. The black mesh isn't exactly compression but it's pretty tight compared to the previous generation pink gymgirl. I'll be wearing this one in the 10km race I'm in on Saturday and will report back.

The black marathon girl in speedsilk is identical to the other one I already own (I'm stockpiling while the $AU is fairly high, in case they ever go out of business).

Hi Guys,

Just to give you a quick update - the code to give you 15% off will be activated on the 15th May (next Wednesday), so i will post it as soon as its live.

Also, Ive had a chat to JoggerKev about how much i should and shouldnt chat about on CR and he said we're right to yak about skirt stuff on this thread, as long as i dont go overboard on the advertising side of things. So i can post discount codes and we are right to yak as we have been.

But to make sure i dont get on his wrong side  :)  Im going to do an email newsletter to keep the converted or the curious in the know about what im up to, where ive been, where i will be, and whats coming up.

Anyone keen to be on the distribution list, PM me your email address. You dont have to be a skirt wearer, am happy if youre just curious to see where this all leads me.

Right, well, we have some good news  :)  and some bad news

Good news is that my code has been activated - its KATHYG and will give you all 15% off.

Bad news is that they have just changed to a new courier service and while its loads quicker, the minimum shipping cost to Oz is now $75. Holey Guacamoley!! They are working on it at the moment to sort something out, so i will let you know as soon as they get that sorted. Cant quite remember how much shipping was previously but it wasnt much, certainly didnt make you choke on your museli.

Will be starting the E-Newsletter early next week, so if anyone else wants to be on the mailing list (skirt wearers, or not, are welcome) just PM me your email.

Cheers

I always found them pretty quick before. I can check but I think it was about $25 before.

Not pleased that the new marathon girl is coming unravelled at the hem already. Can't be bothered sending it back (I know how to handle a needle) but not pleased. Everything else I've had from them is very good quality.

Girls that have already got one or more - can you give a hand with the sizes? I buy most of my pants from Sussan (good for shorties :)) I'm an 8 in those usually if that helps with sizes. Also - what's the preference, Marathon Girl (with pants) or Gym girl with shorts? Do you feel a bit exposed just in the pants and skirt?
Psycho chicken I sent you a PM not long ago saying I'd like to be added to the mailing list but not yet convinced - after reading this thread I've changed my tune ...

ok that is funny - i have a pink virgin mastercard also... :)

but I am thinking of ditching it for boring yellow CBA one as westpac have bought the virgin credit empire in Aus and I believe it will eventually become a westpac card. booo.

Hey Rosie,
The rest of us have gone by trial and error to discover the right sizes and styles. I like MarathonGirl, but others like GymGirl. Id say they are the 2 most popular for running. RollerGirl is cute but it tends to fly up a bit in a breeze as its A-line. Initially you feel a bit exposed in MaraGirl.....i kept going 'can you see my bum' (didnt i Plod and Carmen!!!). But once you get used to it, they are way comfy.

Id say you should go a small or xsmall.
But since you're a perthite, if you like we can catch up and i can show you the styles and sizes. Will make it loads easier for you.

PM me if you like and we can arrange to catch up.

If you're going to be running anywhere that there's no public toilets... eg if you run trails... you might prefer a marathon girl or roller girl, because you don't have to bare your bum to take a pee - there is a bit too much material to shift out of the way in a gym girl.

As for sizing... I am generally a medium.  (I have a gym girl and a marathon girl in a small and let me say, I can squeeze into both but in the marathon girl the answer to PsychoChicken's question above is a big YES!).  I normally wear Nike medium; Brooks extra small to small; New Balance small to medium.

I am also interested in viewing styles and sizes.  I am also a perthite and I have PM you so hopefully we can catch up too! :)

heheh you did.  And we said no....    :)

Only kidding.  The skirts are fab to run in - I like the Gym Girl personally - can't have too many pockets in your shorts in my opinion!  The skirty bit just stays down when you run, so nothing gets "exposed" at all.

For anyone who isnt on my newsletter distribution list.....

We're going to do a group order, to get around the slight postage/courier glitch SkirtSports are currently having.
It'll work out loads cheaper as we can get the 15% discount, plus share the postage.

If theres anything you'd like, PM me.

links are SkirtSports or the new outlet store
(cant get the 15% off the outlet store stuff though, sorry)

I'll pm you my details and would love the newsletter too, thanks!

sjnathan, I think the rule is 10 posts which you now have, so you should be OK to PM.

PsychoChicken, I've sent you an e-mail.
