Was hoping to get a 'Congratulations Ms P. Chicken, we've accepted you in the team' email this morning, but no such luck
Oh and Sunny, no they dont do compression stuff, the ones with bike pants are just meshy breathable bike pants.
Oh oh and Travy they dont all have shorts underneath, just depends on your preference. Theres ones with just built in undies....same as running shorts.
Any while Im here Wombat......no lesbian stories for you, you might need to try a different website!

I had a skort made for me years ago, and it still gets a whirl in summer time. I love them but you never see them in the shops, only those white tennis ones that are so long they would go down to my knees. Then Lorna Jane make them but they are so small it would be like going out for a run in your g string.
I like that these ones claim to have "booty enhancing subtle compression" who doesn't need that?

Am a little excited about this.......a few months back i put in an application for apparel sponsorship with SkirtSports, because Im a bit of a fan of the running skirt
I just got an email this morning asking if Id be interested in being part of the SkirtSport Entourage Team, meaning doing promotional work - expos, booths at events etc etc
Im not too sure on details at this stage, i was just asked if interested, but it seems they may be wanting to be involved in events across the country. So i mentioned i had some skirt-wearing friends across the country that may also be keen to assist.
So am wondering, if anyone out there might be interested in helping if i get chosen?.......will mean free skirts!!!!
I love the running skirt so any help I can provide I'm in! I'm a big fan of the LuLuLemon ones - cute as. But really, they're all great. Sure, it makes me sounds dreadfully girly, but any excuse to wear something cute and I'm in.

I wouldn't share this thread with Skirtsports though, or at least edit it a bit first.

I've not got a running skirt, but I can see why, so I'll answer this one..... Bike shorts can be no good for the confidence, they hide nothing. And normal running shorts can be too short, too revelaing and plain uncomfortable, particulally if you're not blessed with Victoria Beckham's legs and your thighs rub together like normal people's do. There is nothing worse than having your shorts "eaten" while you run, again doing nothing for the confidence!

Righteo, off to look at Tims 5 cyclists one more time (just quietly i did find myself adjusting the brightness on my screen to try to improve the resolution).

Of course you can count me in to help. I like the idea of little skull prints or something "out there" for those who like to run on the wild side.

Am so very excited. I have a load of stuff to do and read and learn first, but looks like i will have my magical skirt powers by 15th May.
Which will mean, at the very least, 15% off to all you pumpkins. But then theres heaps of other stuff going on too. So if any of you are about to splash out and buy something, you might want to hold off and save a few $$.
La la laaaaaa, this calls for celebratory pancakes for brekky i think!

Thanks for all your support, i really appreciate it. Ive just been going thru the info pack and i have to get set up first with my online profile and stuff, then i need to get all my promo gear sent out. Then i work with the sponsorship manager to plot our adventures!!
Hopefully i will be able to bring some stuff over to Brissy and Melbourne when i come over next month for the Bruce Fordyce thing and Great Ocean Rd. And hopefully i can get to meet some more of you that have offered to help, or are just curious to try one out.
Seems like theres loads of opportunities to do stuff, am so excited.

Congratulations PsychoChicken that's fabulous news!
I took my newly acquired skirt out for a spin on Tuesday (thanks Orlando!!!) and I think it looked rather spiffy if I do say so myself!
Think would keep it for shorter distances (say 12km or under) as I cld see my thighs wld start to rub after a while but none the less I'm impressed.
Happy to be a mascot if required...just to show the masses that chicks with chunky thighs and wobbly bits can wear them too!
Ooh! Women's Classic over her and Mothers Day Classic in Melb and Brissy for 2009 could be some sponsorship avenues!
Seriously though, if you need any help give us a yell - I'm more than happy to put my hand up!

And Stella, glad you like the skirt. If you get a CR top too, we're going to be twins at races!

here's me just got enthused enough by the thread to order 3 new skirts on 23 April. Ah well, you live and learn...
A black gymgirl ultimate (to wear with CR or striders gear in races, where I definitely need 2 pockets, but pink lycra just clashes something terrible)
A mojito green supergirl (long skirt)
Another marathon girl (cos you can never have too many)

A description from 1746 states:
"The garb is certainly very loose, and fits men inured to it to go through great fatigues, to make very quick marches, to bear out against the inclemency of the weather, to wade through rivers, and shelter in huts, woods, and rocks upon occasion; which men dressed in the low country garb could not possibly endure." Danny - you're digging yourself into a very big hole here! Remember, we can get our hands on a stash of pompoms! We could kit you out as a full on CR cheerleader, no dramas.
I'll even choreograph a little dance routine for you, how about that?
