Having said that, I have a neutral foot and am running about 70km/week in Nike Vomeros and find them really good.

My current financial situation isn't flash (I usually get my shoes from Nike's factory outlet in Melbourne), but I'll certainly keep the Vomeros in mind

Used to be a fan of Asics, but they are getting too expensive and wear out faster than my Nikes. They have the pod and I have just bought (in Boston) the new Nike sports band. Very COOL!

The Nike shoes in the current rotation are:
Span Triax 4 - nice shoe, only minor stability control, no problems with anything up to 70km.
Vomero 2 - very well cushioned shoe but still feels stable, currently only done up to 30km, but will be the long run preference in coming months. I did my MM2006 prep and race in the Vomero 1, still using them occassionally with 1000km in them.
Zoom Elite (#?) - despite the change from the last version, they are still a good shoe on the feet. Did not feel right when I first put them on, but once running they are a very capable shoe. I would consider these for anything up to about 35km (probably more if I didn't have a choice)
Skylon - nice light shoe. I find them a little unstable when running on tired legs. Still happy to use them for anything up to 20km.
Perseus - not sure if still available, but a firmer ride. Still a good solid training shoe.
Pegasus TC - light and low profile - great if you want to feel fast, but the cushioning is reduced so not as forgiving on the long runs.
I've also trialled the Pegasus, again with a slight change in the model they did not feel quite right when putting them on, but again once running I was more than happy to consider them for the rotation in future.
Of course these are my personal observations and can only be related to my feet / legs / running.

If you want to save some pennies, try ebay. I picked up a pair of Vomeros a couple of weeks ago for $115USD delivered. Latest model as per Nike website & the ones I tried on at Athletes Foot, but around $90 cheaper.
obviously be aware of your correct size, but after 25 yrs in Nike I'd say you have that one sussed.

I was just wondering which website did you buy your new nike shoes from? i haven't been able to track down a site that sells nikes online and i've been trying for months!
i eventually gave up and ended up buying a pair of elite 4's at Rebel sport for $150 but would love to know if there is a cheaper alternative than buying retail >.<
thanks

Hi Jason,
I actually went through ebay, but dealt with a company called Designer Athletic. I paid for them on Friday (Anzac Day), and they arrived at my door the following Tuesday! I just checked my credit card statement - total cost $117.78 (Australian). The international shipping charge adds about 50% to the base price, but you've got to look at the total cost (obviously).
Good luck. Let me know how you get on

I'll be trying them out soon. I just did some calculations and come up with this:
Brooks Trance 7 size 13-$89.95
Postage to Australia-$37.00
2.5% Surcharge on credit card (I'll take RR's word for it here)
=US $130.15
Converted to AU $ (http://www.xe.com/ucc/) = AU$137.859. Lets say $140. Brooks Trance retail here at $260.
Nike Air Equalon 2 Size 13- $129.00 in the current colour. ($99.95 in a superseded colour)
Postage- $37:00
Surcharge- $4:15 (3:43)
Total $170:15 ($140:38)
AUD$180.176 ($148.60)
AU Retail $240.00 ($160 at the Nike factory outlet, about $200 elsewhere.)
The Nike Air Elite 4's are the same price as the superseded Equalons-so pretty much the same price you paid locally!
This post proves a couple of things.
1-there are big savings to be had but you have to do your research.
2-I have way to much time on my hands.

I don't know if all banks charge the surcharge. I use my wife's ANZ Visa, and they always whack on an extra 2.5% (for overseas transactions).
BTW, big congrats on your sub 4 at Canberra! Are you going to Traralgon? I sent off my entry for the half this morning.
