I wish there were little color dots in the bottoms of your shoes that show up when they're worn down enough so you know that you need to replace them.

I know my shoes aren't ready to be replaced yet but I've started to notice that the bottoms are worn down and it made me think that I need to figure out when it's time to get a new pair.

Buy a new pair now and alternate between them and your current ones for a while. That's what a lot of folks do.

Balri told me that 1000kms or thereabouts can be a good time to change shoes. Although he has just told me that his need changing at about 800kms. He has three pairs on the go. The old pair, the new pair he's breaking in and the new ones still in the box, which will come out when the new pair become the old pair. Not sure if any of that helps though. :)

I have worn through the black soles on my Adrenaline 8's and they have only done just over 500kms. So not happy at $200/pair. I thought runnng was a cheap form of exercise.

Off to Athletes Foot again next week. :)

800k is the norm.

I have three pairs rotating active duty, and a few more still in the box.

It certainly could be cheaper for you. Plenty of those shoes on eBay in Australia at $140. And even less of course if you buy from the US.

Thanks everyone. I just have the one pair that I wear all the time. I thought that the more experienced runners did the shoe rotation thing and that I'm too new and not running hard enough to really need to do that. Maybe I'll look into getting a second pair to rotate with

I only get 600ks out of my shoes - it can become expensive, but it's sooo good.
