I think (hope) that it's the tail end of the flu that caused all the unhappiness today. I had a mild dose a couple of weeks ago but shook it off very quickly. I ran the Sutherland half a week ago, and enjoyed it, but the flu returned shortly after for a few days. Very mild and no fever but it seems to have left me with very little energy.
For better or worse today was the last long run, so my glacial stop-start 30km will have to do. But I must admit I felt very disappointed and I find it hard to believe that I'll magically be able to run 42km in three weeks time
Sorry - just needed to moan a bit

Hey Slowmo,
sorry to hear you are not feeling well and that your long run was so tough. I hope you are right and it is just the tail end of the flu. Sending you positive vibes for a speedy recovery, and hope to see you all bright-eyed as usual at Sri Chinmoy this Sunday. I'm sure you'll be right for the marathon...
Anne.
