Hey all,

Sydney 08 will be my Trailwalker #6

I would love to be a part of a fast team who are willing to work tother and have fun running this challenging course.

I have had a busy year running ultras, and would like to target a sub 14 hour finish.

Hi Milov
Do you have a team and are looking for additional runners or are you looking for a team. I missed the sign up but would be keen to run in a fast team too if they need a runner. Like to keep  my MdS fitness up....  :(
Cheers
Markus

Hi guys

I'm interested...but..I'm not a "fast ultra runner". I'm actually about to run my first ultra - 60km in Canberra on July 26th. Training has gone, well, I'm tapering now, and I expect to run somewhere around the 6hr mark. This makes me think I can run a 100km in about 12-14...or am I dreaming?

I always envisaged myself training for a year before taking on a 100km (and such a run is truly a dream of mine), but now I'm thinking...I'll be at peak fitness, 60km under my belt...time to recover and train up...why not give it a shot?

Any thoughts? :-)

Sorry mate, you are dreaming.  I ran Canberra 60km last year.  Was in good shape (for me) and did 5:58 or there abouts.  Did TW last year in 17:40.  Teams concept can work against you depending on other team members, but TNF comparision is 15 hours in similar condition.

12-14 hours is the pointy end of a 100km race.  The winning TW team I think does about 12 hours and the winning NF entrant was 10:20.

Good luck and have fun.

Hi Hornet

Thank you for that - it puts things into perspective. I think for now I need to concentrate on my 60km, and then start to broaden my horizons.

Run with spirit and love
