I would greatly appreciate advice on a good podiatrist in Melbourne. One that will honestly advise if orthotics will help. Currently I wear a firm and flexible insole but want to assess if I can improve the situation. I am starting to get outer knee pain related to foot impact.

Advice really appreciated.

I go to Paul Karak in Langwarren. He's a triathlete so knows a little about runners.

my orthotics work well so I assume he's ok!

Hi OBL

I was referred to a guy called Kade Paterson at Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (Bounce Health Group).

I was all ready to be told that I'd need orthotics, but he was all for not putting me in orthotics and instead advised of alternatives to aid my recovery.

I have since recovered just fine and am now back out running.

OBL
right in your backyard so to speak.
Richard (cant remember his surname) at the Sandringham Sports Medicine Clinic. Tulip St Sandringham (next to King Club)
He has made for me both rigid and flexible orthotics which completely fixed my shin pains.
I have special flexible ones that replace the in sole in my running shoes. The rigid ones I use in my day to day footwear.
He is fantastic and I can highly recommend him.

Hi OBL

I also recommend Paul Karak in Langwarrin. I went to him late last year after suffering bad shin splints. He fitted me with orthotics and recommended the shoes to get to wear with them and they have worked a treat.

I use Matt Appleton at Prahran Sports Medicine. He also owns the Active Feet stores. He seems to have worked for me and solved my plantar fascitis issue.
