The Vom III has the same soft feel of Vom 2, the only real difference is the better crash pad on the lateral side where you make heel contact and the midfoot coloum of materail to support the cuboid at midstance - so its just keeping the great ride but additing a bit of lateral stability.... the way a neutral foot moves its perfect!!

I've been alternating between Vom 2 and 3 every run the last few weeks, and barely notice any difference (which is good). Probably the most discernable difference is that the Vom 2 has a little raised spot on the inner (near the ball of your foot) and the Vom 3 doesn't.
I think they got the Vomero right for neutral runners, so hopefully they don't change it too much from model to model. Spoke recently to an ex-Nike guy who mentioned that they thought they changed models too radically in the past, which pissed people off. So they're going for more consistency between upgrades.
Works for Asics.

I did 800-1000km in the 2s, had no problems at all. Since starting on the 3s I've had problems with numbness on the ball of my right foot and sprains on the inside of the calf.
I'm a forefoot runner and the "improvements" made to the latest version have totally ruined it for me. Now searching for my next pair of shoes after about 150km.
