There are some top quality young athletes in this team. It will be very hard to medal here but probably our best chance might be:
Vicki Parnov (pole vault),
Jess Rothwell (10k walk),
Zoe Timmers (high jump),
Emanuelle Fuamatu (shot)
Kurt Mulcahy (400m)
James Kaan (800m)
Have I missed someone? What other people think about medal prospects in Bydgoczsz?

But competition will be tough, there are quite few African juniors who did sub 3:40 this season and also sub 13:40 for 5000m.

It cant be forgotten how difficult it is for these athletes to compete in the European summer, when our athletes would normally be doing a different type of training.
James and Ryan(who are regular training partners, and friends) will find the competition tough as the events that both are entered in, tend to have a lot of pushing and shoving, which they would not have faced a lot of in Australia.
When they both competed at World Youth level, I believe the pushing and shoving was a big eye opener for both.
Good luck to all of the team.

James Kaan was 3rd in his semi-final in the 800m in 1:49.25 to qualify for the final.
Trychelle Kingdom 2nd in her semi of the 800m in 2:05.66 to make the final.
Men's 10,000m final was won in 27:30.85 by Josphat Kipkoech Batt in a Championship Record. Kenyan of course!
Kurt Mulcahy 4th in the 400m final.
Ryan Gregson 5th in the 1500m final in 3:48.23.
Angeline Blackburn 6th in the 400m final.
Bridey Delaney 3rd in her heat of the 1500m in a PB in 4:20.82 to qualify for the final.
Kaan and Kingdom are in their respective 800m finals in a few hours.
Kaan has the 3rd fastest PB in the final so a good chance of a medal I would think.

4x400m girls improved 1 sec from their heat time, 3:34.23 that is 53.5 average, that is flying.
Very good run by Bridey Delany in what was obviusly very tactical race (65 sec. third lap after slow 2:25).
PB by Ryan in 5000m, what more could you ask.

Ryan Gregson now holds the NSW U18 and U20 records for 5000m.
The old U20 record was held by Martin Dent in 14:09, and Gregson already had the U18 record.
Story is here. Relay team win Bronze
Angeline Blackburn ran a 51.8 last leg of the relay.
