Brooks Trance 7 Vs Adrenaline Gts 7

It seems that the Trance is marginally heavier than the Adrenalines, but apart from this (and is it a real issue?) have any other CoolRunners had experience with these shoes, and can they share their opinions regarding durability, comfort, etc?

I find the price about the same as the latest Asics, and they are also a little less common than Asics which is nice, as I like trying to spot different runners during races to keep my brain occupied.

The adrenalines are definately lighter and certainly feel more shock absorbent, but do not give as much stability support as the trance.
I need stability as I also use orthotics, so I guess it just becomes a personal choice.
Either way I find the Brooks really good shoes for me.

I wear the Adrenalines and I am happy with them but my paediatrist said to buy the Trances next time as they are higher in the heel and supposed to put less stress on your calf muscles.

The Trance just arrived last night, so will take them for a run later this morning (after a bit of sleep).
I'll write a brief report later on comparing the 2 shoes.
Cheers.

It's always going to come down to personal choice though and I haven't made up my mind for sure yet but I'm starting to lean back towards the Adrenaline GTS.

Nevertheless, when I was in the States a month or so ago I talked to a guy from a local shop who was rather negative about the trance. He thought a trance was like an adrenaline with a lot unnecessary and expensive stuff added. He said I wouldn't notice the difference if I would try them. I never did try them on, but am reluctant to change now I have found a shoe that I am very happy with.

The Trance is maybe the sexiest looking shoe there is. But I didn't like them. When I got them I thought they were fine, but it took 100km or so before they felt ok to run distance in. I ran my first marathon in them and they were ok, but my feet were very sore afterwards. I think they weren't cushioned enough in the forefoot for my liking. They were nowhere near as comfy as the Adrenalines. I would have another pair of GTS7's in a flash.
I now run in Nikes!

I had been having some achilles / ankle problems from my previous shoes (New Balance) and these have done the trick. These got me through my first HM very well thanks..
Went to get another pair for my Melb Marathon campaign and Athletes Foot told me that they do not market them anymore and sold me a pair of Brooks Dyad.
Lesson no.1 - just because she is 21, attractive and studying physiotherapy - it doesn't mean she knows feet and running shoes!!! I am still searching for another pair of Trance 7 !!!

Secondly, has anyone done enough Kms in the Trance 8's to make comparisons ?

Wow you got into a pickle there didn't you went from a support type shoe for pronation to a neutral. I'd recommend heading down to the smith st Brooks store and asking someone to put you through an order.

Hi - I've got the new 8's and find that they fit very differently to the 7's, more Kayano like from memory (I wore Kayano until the podiatrist recommended Trance 3 years ago). The upper has changed from a fine tough mesh to a looser type that lets your foot move more. As an orthodic wearer they don't sit as well as they did in the 7's so I now get heel slippage like I used to in Kayanos. I've also noticed that these tend to overcorrect now with the orthotic so probably will need to change out more often as the outside softens up...hope this helps...btw my podiatrist mentioned the Adrenalines might now be worth a try...

They're hit or miss on sizing though - basically, it's whatever is left in the particular store.

I've run in them for several years now and have never noticed a difference.
The guy at my local running shop who knows the Brooks guys pretty well told me that Brooks are scared of changing the shoe because they're so popular. So all that changes are the looks.
