I feel strong after 10km but 20km plus I on a runners low. I think it has something to do with the time.

The other runner's high from a cruisy run over the beaches doesn't really count I suppose - still feels good though

But I find that my body starts adapting to the workload and I have to do more and more to get the high. I hadn't had the feeling for a while until I did a 22km run with a 30 minute interval session on the track in the middle of it - that certainly did it for me!

These days carrying a few extra kgs and being a lot slower I don't get a high anymore, but running still makes me feel great.
I sometimes get a high in spin classes though...

Yes definitely get this is at time from running.
When, where and how varies a bit, but typically the following are the typical times when I am likely to experience it:
- long, easy run when my legs are fresh, and easy is actually relatively quick, then about 55-70min in a switch seems to flick and its the runners high
- sprint distance duathlon or triathlon race the final run can do it
- solid interval session when the pace is between half-marathon to 10k race pace
- tempo type run
The other requirements seem to be beautiful surroundings, good weather, feeling fairly stress free before the run and not carrying over much fatigue from previous training.

But then my wife started noticing how much I “really, really love” her after a run.
All is good with the world after a long run.

But I wouldn't run as much if it didn't exist that is for sure!

Some lone hours on some quiet bush trails, or gliding through the kilometres chatting and laughing with a friend, or a solid, hard race; it all leaves me in a mellow, yet uplifted mood.
There is something special about long runs in the bush that touch my soul in a very primal way. It reaffirms and reassures me that I'm a part of the natural world and cleanses my soul.

Usually when I have one of those perfect runs where the effort feels low but the pace it high and I finish with a big stupid grin on my face.
Having been out for just over 3 weeks with a stress fracture (7 days until I can start running again and counting!) and I can assure you there is no such thing as a Deep Water Running high or a Cycling on the windtrainer high
