Hi, newish member who's done a little reading but no posting 8)

Basically I used to be a pretty good sprinter, best at the 200m/400m, but typical as a kid I insisted on the 100m which was my weakest of the three (hehe)

I found my old starting blocks when cleaning out the house the other day, and my old spikes too. Since I was 13 the last time I was running competitively, it's safe to say it's been about 10 years since I'd seen them and while the blocks are still in great condition, the spikes definitely do not fit.

I was wondering if there's anywhere in Sydney that sells cheap sprint spikes? A moment of inspiration seems to point at me getting myself back into this stuff :D

I saw some online dealers based in the U.S. that sell them dirt cheap, like this one;
http://www.firsttothefinish.com

They have so many for $10-$30 :)

Is there anywhere in Sydney that might stock old or discontinued models that they just want to get off of their hands, cheap or not? I don't necessarily want to order online as I'm quite pedantic about fit, I need to confirm shoes fit in store before purchasing.

Cheers.

Teoman

I've got a pair of as new Asics GN011 size US 11 1/2 that are too small for me. Hardly used. You could have them for $30 if they fit.

Try the Nike Factory outlet on Parramatta Rd, Auburn, or the New Balance Outlet in Alexandria (I think it's on Botany Rd). Both sell cheaper spikes if you don't care about colour or getting last years style.

Seems I spoke too soon :)

chookrunner, thank you for the offer, but unfortunately the size isn't right. Hopefully someone else here will see your offer and get back to you though!

Thank you for the answer RunBare, I'll see if I can take a trip to Auburn and check out the Nike factory. I'd actually bought several pairs of football boots there in the past, ones that were selling for $270 in Rebel just down the road were going for $30 at Nike. I hope it's similarly as unbelievable with the pricing for spikes 8)

Teo there are many places in Sydney where you can get spikes what area do you work/live in? If you are ever around the Silverwater/ Homebush area you could try Pauls Warehouse at Homebush, Kings track and field at Homebush track, Rebel Clearance, Nike warehouse, and Addidas clearance centres at intersection of Silverwater Rd and Great Western Highway.

If you live anywhere near the Hills area I can give you some other places that have spikes.

I think that the lowest prices that you are likely to find available are $35 to $40 the prices go up from there but you should be paying less than $90 for a pair.

Cheers HillsAths1 :)

I live out west but work quite near to Homebush. I guess I can drag the car in one day and pop off for an extended lunch break to Paul's, then detour through Auburn on my way back 8)

No problems.

If you are ever interested in trying out your spikes, we have training every Monday and Wednesday night at 6.30pm at AH Whaling Reserve Baulkham Hills.

If you're going to Nike make sure it's on the weekend (saturday).
I think every sat they have discount for all items roughly from 2-4pm (depend on ur luck). Disc could go up to 40%.

2 weeks ago I bought some Nike free 3 and only pay for $60 awesome stuff

Wow, I didn't know that.

I have come across some crazy deals with football boots there though, as soon as a new colour is released for the boot, all old colour schemes go on sale for $30 and get snapped up in no time. It really is about timing with the Nike factory!
