I think I'm going to do this one. A little bit closer to home and I like the idea of swimming in a pool.

I'm trying to talk my kids into doing one, but think the distances are a bit too hard for them yet, they're only 7 & 9. :) I like the idea of the whole family participating, thats something we can work towards I think

This club holds these distances every month from October up until March

You may be surprised by the ages of some of the juniors. ;)

During the winter months, from after March, the club runs duathlon events over the same kinds of distances until the weather warms up again.

Look forward to seeing you there Willow. :D

That looks like a great thing to do! My eldest is only 5, so maybe not this year. Maybe I could interest my nephew - I took him on a NXC run a couple of months ago and he did OK. DUnno what sort of a bike he has, probably a BMX thingy, but it would still get him around!

He wouldn't be the only one with a BMX.

The kids just get out and have a great time running around like little crazy people.

Then they are charged with the responsibility of cooking the BBQ breakfast (with adult supervision of course) and they just love it.

I've had a running related injury for the last few months and have been swimming and cycling, would it be strange to do these two legs only? I have plenty of friends that could do the run leg or could I simply walk the run section? I would like to put my cross training to some use.

A running related injury was what attracted me to triathlon in the first place. I'd always been curious but the injury almost forced me into it.

There will be club members able to run your run leg for you or alternatively I would think that if you wanted to bring someone along to run it for you, it wouldn't be a problem. Or even if you wanted to walk it! It's all about just getting out and having a go.

It's a really great bunch of people, very friendly and welcoming.

:D

I assuming that this begginers Triathlon is still on! I thought that it was sort of a funny day to have it as it clashes with the Nepean and that the club Triathlets would be more interesed in Nepaen than helping out on the day. I guess there are only so many days in the year.

I haven't heard anything to the contrary.

I think that that is why it's on this weekend as there's not going to be a lot of competition with those away at the Nepean. There will be a number of club members around who aren't competing for one reason or another.

Well I had a good morning out. Did the intermediate course in the exact same time as last time only this time I was untrained, have a cold and a couple of cracked ribs! Not bad eh?

Didn't see any CRs out though, well none in CR gear anyways.

What a great way to start a Sunday! I'm very proud to say my whole family participated in the triathlon. My husband (non- exerciser) and I went in the short course and stayed with our kids who were a bit unsure about the whole thing. My kids are only 9 & 7 and they don't swim very well, but I'm pleased to say that both of them completed it, although my 7 year old daughter did have a few tears during the run, but you should of seen their faces when I gave them both a medal each with their names on it when they had finished, they were so excited and can't wait for the next one! My husbands only complaint was I didn't organise a medal for him!

We're now officially a family of triathletes! Bring on the next one! ;)

I remember seeing you both now!

Sorry I didn't get to meet you and I am glad you had a wonderful day. :)
