Does anyone know of somewhere in the city that is worth a look?
I'm planning on going down around Pitt and George Streets, but am happy to have a look anywhere that is easily accessible by public transport.

I usually buy from Rebels (unless buying online), but guess that this time of year post xmas sales may be going on.
Not a whole lot of choice in Sydney CBD besides the regulars ie Rebel, Ath Foot etc, so maybe just look around and see who is having a sale, or else head online and probably pick up cheaper

I'm planning on working out a day trip to a few of the places and looking around for a good price.
Just thought I might get a bargain in Sydney.
Thanks for the help

They've staffed by physios during the week and they film you running on a treadmill for gait analysis. Their range of shoes is quite small though - mostly nikes from memory.
I'm not sure if there's going to be any bargains in the specialty running stores - if you already know what shoe you want probs try rebel (Cnr King and George Streets) for the sales! I went to Footpoint Clinic yesterday and they don't seem to be having any particular sales, but their gait analysis is pretty awesome and they have a much bigger range than SOS Running

this store based out in Randwick / Clovelly has fantastic prices online and instore not too muh different. for ds trainers they're consistently 50 less than rebel etc. If you know what you want I'd ring around first to save you all the running LOL

Just visit Steve Howard see previous threads http://www.coolrunni....php/t4334.html
He is at Frenchmans Road, Randwick and is a legend. He generally offers prices below RRP, will video you running up the road and spends lots of time to get you the right shoe. Make sure you bring in your old shoes and is worth the trip... and he is a runner as well!
Catch a train to Bondi Junction and bus along Frenchmans Rd (bus stop outside his store)
Enjoy

so you might pick up a bargain..
i know that the athletes foot just finished their half yearly clearance, but like i said good chance they'll still have some sale stock - if your worried about advice from there though, just speak to the store manager.

Don't bother with the city, unless you want some nice heels, then head up to DJ's for the sale!!
The shop at Randwick is about the best you will get for running shoes of you want to be fitted, but ring before you go.

Also, although I have never bought there, is the guy at Flemington Market. He only sells one brand, I think Nike, but I am told he is very cheap indeed.
For both of these, do not expect expert advice. I once bought shoes from Paul's having told the salesman that I wanted shoes for road racing. After I had bought the shoes, he asked me what sort of car I did my road racing in!

One thing I like in this shop is all of the owner's assistants are runners and they wear their product. the owner is a good runner itself and gives good recommendations of what they sell.
I've seen Athlete's Foot have the same concept of measuring one's pronation before suggesting shoes for them.
