Hi all,

I'm considering trying out Mizunos and was looking for some thoughts from people as to what they are like.

I have been running in Kayano 14s for the past few months, though I'm not overly happy with them because I find them very heavy, they often make my legs ache. I was initially going to switch to GT2140s, but was also having a look at the Mizuno Wave Inspire, and they feel so light! I need stability shoes, but not control ones, and am thinking lighter is the way to go - but I do a lot of road running and was unsure whether I'll be compromising on cushioning in making the switch.

Any advice?

Hey NBR
I have been wearing Mizuno's for 18months or more now in ultra races, on road, track and trail.
I am on pair 9 now usually retiring them at 600K+ and they have served me very well.
Although I think it is such a personal thing and we all have different needs, but as a running shoe, thumbs up from me.
Good luck

i have been running in Mizuno wave inspire 4 & now 5 for awhile now and i love them, (always use them on my long runs) but of course shoes are a very individual thing and i recommend you go to a specialty running store and do the fitting thing

Well my road shoes are Kayano's but my trail shoes are Wave Ascends and I really like them. I'm not sure that a comparison between the two would mean anything, but Kayano's suit my feet and so do the Wave Ascends. They definitely feel quite different.

I loved my Mizuno Nirvana's. Unfortunately, the sizing of Mizuno doesn't suit my feet so I've had to go back to ASIC Nimbus. The Mizuno's felt really light in comparison to the Nimbus.

I basically had the same history and same choice, and bought a pair of Wave Inspire.

Initially I detested running in them, but as I have got used to the lack of cushioning I have found they are not that bad.

I generally have three pairs of shes going at any one time. I'm still using them, but when I bought my next pair I went for a pair of Kayanos, which I prefer.

Love my Inspires, have 2 pair in my 3 shoe rotation at the moment, have no problem getting 1000km + out of them.

Cheers

Hi there, I run with Mizuno Wave Creations and Asics Nimbus. They're both great neutral shoes, the Nimbus has more cushion so I tend to wear them on harder courses (ie footpath) and the Creations for anything else. I like them both equally, won't wear anything else (I'm slightly high arch, wider neutral foot).

I've been running in Mizuno shoes for years. They suit me fine. But let's face it, running shoes from most major brands are pretty much the same.
