Allright fitness gurus.

What is the best distance to train for in order to be 'fit' accross arange of disciplines.
For example, a fun run junkie does sprints, 5km, 10km, 21.1km and everything in between.
Plays the odd game of football etc.
The joy of competiting is more important then peaking for a specific event.

So replicating what distance in training is going to produce the best allround results?
400m,800,1500???

Love to hear some thoughts??

Difficult question, best answered by others I think. What exactly are you aiming for. Is it to play lots of different sports as well as run short and long races up to 21k?

Am I hearing you right NAL?

10km would be a good all round distance

Yes 10km with some fartlek of different distances, such as 50m up to 1km surges/sprints, might be a goa!

Not really anything I am aiming at, just a general question in regards to general fitness.
