I didn't really know where to post this then thought, "what the hell, I only want to skite anyway."

I gave blood again for the first time in 5 years yesterday. The significance of the milestone is that it means I've been cancer-free for 5 years woohoo!!! I had surgery for prostate cancer in 2004 and since then I've...started running, lost >10 kg, run 6+ half marathons, one marathon (Gold Coast 2007), numerous other fun runs and included running in my life.

Life's good.

Dave

Hahaha, I didn't know that definition. Maybe it's a good idea, but then again, running in the morning. Oh well, that's the price we pay :good:

You know what Dave, life is good. I try not to get carried away too much with the slap on the back stuff here at CR because too often I believe mediocre performance is being treated as 'awesome', 'sensational' and the like. When really, whilst it's important to the person who has achieved it and they should feel very proud, it is still mediocre.

But what you've done is celebrate and grab hold of life when you could have just withered away and died. Pretty blunt, but that's how it is. And having known both cancer survivors and those who haven't been able to defeat it adopting a positive attitude and then succeeeding beyond what most would expect isn't easy.

So very well done to you and keep it up.
