Hey guys this is my first post.
I just bought a pair of asics 1140 gel running shoes size 9.5 yesterday.
Well I tried a 30 minute workout (alternating 2 minute jog/1 minute walk). My tips of my toes were killing me after about 20 minutes.
I tried on 9's and 10's in the store, the lady said that I should go down to 9.5's as the space in front of my toes was too much. I sort of agreed and thought that loose shoes would result in injury. Well now with the toe injury I am thinking that the shoes are too small for me and that I should go the half a size higher.
Can I return them? Exchange/refund... I have taken the tags off, I have the receipt and the box....
Can I get a bigger size ?????????????????????

Edit: can I return them to a different branch? bough in sydney penrith want to change in blacktown??

I think it really depends on where you bought them from. You could try at the store and if that doesn't work, write to the manufacturer direct. And if neither of those options work, perhaps expect not to get a positive result, sell the shoes onto someone they do fit, and buy youself a new pair that are your size. It pays to have the right shoes. Good luck!

I bought a pair of Reebok shoes at Athlete's Foot a couple of years ago and wore them on at least three runs. I hated them and they gave me a serious pain underneath the balls of my feet. Someone told me that they would take them back (for an exchange at least) and especially as they were shoes that were recommended for me by them.
They were great, let me swap them over for the pair of Asics that I absolutely love no problem!
Give them a go, you might be surprised!

Last year I bought a new pair of black RM Williams shoes. I already had a brown pair and needed a new black pair of shoes for work. I went in to an RM Williams store nearby and was fitted, they measured my feet, I tried a few on and the recommended a pair. I bought them and took them home. That night I wore them around the house for a while and noticed that they were a bit tight and were pushing on my toes. I checked my old pair and found my new pair was size 10 1/2 and my old pair was 11 1/2. So the next day I took in my new pair and my old pair and explained what happened, they immediately took the new pair back and re-fitted my and watched my walk in my old pair. They said that they thought the old pair looked too big (despite me saying they felt great) and that their original size was 'correct', but they exchanged for a 1/2 size bigger (still smaller than my old pair). I took them home. About a month later I was still unhappy with the fit, they felt too small and uncomfortable to wear all day, which is why I had bought them, but I had worn them a couple of times and felt uncomfortable about taking them back to the shop. So I wrote a letter to RM Williams company outlining what had happened. They wrote back and I exchanged my new pair for a larger size. These new ones feel great and I couldn't be happier! I wear them all day and love them!
Not exactly a story about running shoes, but my point is that if you were fitted by the store and they are not right then you should be able to get it fixed, either by going to the store or to the company.

Olmy great story and result. This is also a great plug for an Australian Company.
Sharps, as suggested, call up store stating what has happened, if you have not been wearing them in a mud paddock for a week you should be ok(they could use them as a display model). Also ring up Asics(they are at Seven Hills) I have had a problem with the inserts in shoes being too small and they were quite happy to give me a larger pair of inserts and have had no problem since.

I had some shoes last year for a month or so and even ran a half mara in them before taking them back because they were poorly fitted and too short (nails were falling off). The sport shop changed them happily and even gave me a big discount on the new pair they fitted and a store voucher to cover the lower cost of the new pair (I was offered cash), so I go back every time to these guys for new shoes.

I had a bad return experince with Rebel where they wouldn't take a pair of shoes back because I said I had run in them once - they said that is their policy because they are then no longer regarded as new so they can't resell them. Just tell them you only walked around the house in them! Real running shops generally take them back even if you have worn them quite a bit
That I why I dont have any consciense now using Rebel to try on and then buy online overseas

Thanks guys,
I rang rebel up and told them the situation (i was walking in my house, hehe). I went in and tried the 10's on, they are great, all good so far
They switched em over no probs.
I did have a run in the first pair but they looked new still so it was all good. (no muddy paddocks for me, lol)

I was just going to ask this question. i was fitted at Athletes Foot yesterday and walked around etc felt great. Went to the gym tonight - walked on the treadmill for about 5 minutes started my run and within 1 minute my heels were burning like crazy.
Slowed to a walk which was fine - then started to run and bang - burning heels again. Never had this problem before. I have the receipt and box and they are still in saleable condition so will take them back tomorrow - not paying $160 for shoes I can't even run in after being fitted and all. The brand is Ryka and I think I will swap them for the asics i tried on as well.
