Does anyone know of any speed training or running groups around the Balmain area? I am looking for a group to join up with or just a few other people that run around the area. Information or ideas are greatly appreciated. I currently do about 30-35km a week and run b/w 5.3 -6min / km. Thanks :good:

Hi Chevs,

Taken from the Woodstock Runners Website

"Woodstock Runners, and now also walkers, meet at Woodstock Community Centre, Burwood, at 6.10pm on Tuesday night for a run of 9 -12km. With groups leaving at 5 minute intervals from 6.20pm, we cater for runners and walkers of all abilities and our members range in age from 15 to 83 years.

Club members also meet at Brett Park, Drummoyne each Saturday morning at 7.20am for a run around the Bay or through surrounding streets and parks.

A recent addition has been a track night at Campbell Athletic Field, Canterbury each Thursday night (a grass track) at 6:30pm. This group does a variety of different interval and speed training sessions ranging from sprints to mile repeats. Some sessions also follow a pyramid structure. All levels of running ability are welcomed and catered for.

In the summer 'off' season, we organise for the runners Sunday morning runs with 10, 15 and 20 kilometre options. Throughout the year the club holds many internal events combining social and sporting elements.

We invite runners and walkers to run/walk with our club as visitors before deciding whether our club best suits their needs. We look forward to welcoming you!"

It really is a great club, albeit I am biased! Check the website for more info

Try Ray James "Eagle" who is known to do the occasional lap of the bay. Try 20km a day in Feb.

A group meet at the bottom of lillyfield hill near "La Montage" for hill repeats at 6am Tuesday mornings.

Pulse Tri club do run training on Tue and Thu night at a park on the bay run.
