Well i had a goal of attempting my first half this year, and a mate of mine was going on about how good he was in the city to surf and that i should do that, i said well ok but you got to do a half with me, now this guy is a much better runner than me but had never contemplated the half, so i had told him only about the blackmores half, anyways so on the weekend over a few beers with some other training buddies, he finds out about the smh half in may, and turns and says, well why don't we do that one instead, we are ready, so long story short my training plan has been cut short by 4 months.

It is Hemingway who is credited with the line "do sober what you said you'd do drunk"

Sometimes that's a good thing. I reckon you'll like the half. And you can still do blackmores in September as well. Enjoy!

Talk to Brewer about what you get yourself into when you've been drinking with your mates. :vava:

Oh, and good luck BigBaz, you'll do fine.

I know all about agreeing to things when I've had a few :vava: But good things can come out of it too...... 3 months ago i was a pack a day smoker who hadn't done any cardio in 20 years.

Whilst somewhat under the influence on a camping trip I agreed to do the run for the kids this year with my girlfriend - and now I'm a runner!! A slow one, but still a lot healthier than I was not too long ago.

So I agree with walshy2 - you might be pleasantly surprised bigbaz.
