I have been running in 21 series ASICS for about 3 years and never had a problem until now.... with the new 2140s. They have lifted up the inner sole by a few mm causing blisters to my heals and changed stitiching near toe causing black toe nails. I have spoke to a few shops and they have received a quite a few returns.
The old 2130s I got 550-600km, while the new 2140s only got 450km. Running 50-70km week mixture, road and bush (once a week).
Anyone else had any problems?

2130's were fantastic from the start, 2140's have never felt quite right, a lot heel discomfort. I should have just bought the out going 2130's. I thought they would wear in but they just haven't
BTW, Asics are the only shoes I buy and can run 50km on the first wear without a problem.

First time I've heard of shoes causing sore thighs.
Haven't tried 2140s, have 4 pairs of unused 2130s, so will be a while.

Just to provide some balance to the previous post. I did the Melb Trail Walker in 2130s. Put a bit of paw-paw ointment between my toes (probably not required), changed my socks at 60km (probably not required), feet felt good, no blisters, not even a hot spot.

I agree 2130s were awesome shoe... did 550km without a single problem. 2140s offered no such luck, 100km less, blisters on heel and a black toe nail. I am reverting back to the 2130s!

I love the 2140s. I actually was having achillies/calf problems in the 2130s. I do have to get the 4E fitting as i think these shoes have got narrower. I ran the 6FT in my 2140s without a blister or blacktoenail
. Just my opinion but i love these shoes. I am actually off to pick up 2 new pairs right now!!

The only problems that I have had with ASICS lately is that the insert starts to slip back and my toes then go over the top of the insert.
The solution was that the nice people from ASICS gave me a larger size insert and that seems to have fixed the problem.(see size does matter).
In fact there is another problem, and that is that the prices went up when the AUD went to 50c to the USD, but now that we are near 70c there has been no noticeable reduction in price.

i am a newbie to running and the asics gt2140 is my first pair of runningshoes. i have only gone 150km and the tread on the forefoot is already wearing thin! (however this is the first pair of shoes i haven't had black toenails). this is going to end up being very expensive!

Totally agree. Could put on a pair of 2130s (and 2120s) and go for a long run straight up. Last 10-12 pairs have been fantastic. I buy at least 5 pairs each year. These 2140s which I bought about 8 weeks ago feel dead on the cushioning and sloppy around the toes already - I havent run anywhere near the kms I normally do over the past 2 months.

Was running in 2130's up until about 6 months ago switched to Brooks for a while but splashed out and brought the 2140's (after having the "gait test")..........have never been so tight in the hammies and calves. Can just see the sales kid rubbing his hands now as I walked out the door.
Stretching = Yes, Massage = yes, 2 trips to the physio @ $70ea = Yes. So, back to the 2130's if I could find them?? It seems they are as rare as rocking horse s@#t.
Any suggestions on the best place (or any place in SE QLD) to get them and $$$??

Oh yeah, they're rare all right.
Thanks Bellthorpe.
Typical though, every friggin size except mine (10)
Might do some home made surgery on the feet and shave a bit off?
