Today woke up at 5.30 and jogged to local shopping center. 8:46 there, 8:02 back.

1 mins rest halfway, would you guys advise this?

Never sweated this much before.

Really had to dig in on the way back.

16:48 total time 3.82 km

Hi gcrunner09, welcome to CR! It is a little difficult to say yes or no on the advice front.

What are you trying to achieve?

How long have you been running?

A little more info about you may be helpful to get the answers you need. You may also like to have a look through the beginner threads. Digging in and pushing yourself further is great and running a quicker time on the way back shows determination and there is nothing wrong with a little rest here and there. Just not sure if I am giving you the info that you need. All the best, K :hi:
