hey everyone,
I did my school cross country today and as you can tell i came 1st!! yay

But i'll start my story at this time last year(2008). I ran the cross country and came an awesome 84th :)
I wasnt to happy with my fitness level and my weight so i decided to start jogging. After about 6 months
i had really started to feel myself get fitter, stronger and lighter. At this point i really enjoyed running and
was hooked. I started to get a bit more serious and i increased my training and effort and have been training
hard since then.

Back to this year(2009). When i heard the cross country was coming up i was alot more excited and enthusiastic
about it. All my mates knew i had been training and thought i had a good chance of winning.
The cross country came and i felt really good. I ran well and felt strong all the way.
I ended up coming 1ST!! and finishing the 6km about 3 or 4 minutes faster than second place.
I was extremely proud and realized that this was my first ever blue ribbon and age champion trophy

I am really happy about my achievement and looking forward to the regional races and to next years cross country!!! :o

Hey - CONGRATULATIONS!!! This is such a fantastic effort, least of all the race itself but in your dedication to trying something new, solving a problem you had and sticking with it. Be warned - the feeling is addictive, and I fear you've a new lifelong passion on your hands! :)

You should feel so proud of yourself, you deserve a big pat on the back and a whole bunch of new running gear for your acheivement. Am really looking forward to seeing more of you on these boards and hearing of your next goals and successes. You rock!

jesus finny... or you could just say 'congrats', you sour bastard.

Well done cj: winning is a great feeling, isn't it? And when you come first, it really doesn't matter what time you run. As long as it's quicker than the poor bugger in 2nd :)

Edit: I should add my own congratulations.

Well done RunningKidCJ, look forward to hearing more of your running!

Congrates on your achivements and hope you continue your running. I was a 5 time champion at school for x-country and one thing I said to the new recruits is that it didn't matter if you came first or last, it is the fact that you had a go (unlike many others who don't).

Keep working at it and set some goals, keeps us up to date with future developements.

hey thanks everyone for your comments.

I think though that my time may have been faster than what i predicted.
This is because today i did a 5km tempo run and got a P.B of 19:08mins and i felt the same after wards
as i did after the 6km cross country. So I'm thinking that my Cross country time may have been closer to 23:30mins than
24:30min which is what i originally thought. So that just gives me more confidence leading up to my district race.
